Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: Although the physical therapist substitute I saw that day is trained in manual therapy, Mary Ann did not perform it on meGetting an evaluation and recommendations for things i’ve already been told and tried are not beneficial to meTherefore, I would not make a follow up appointment for something that didn’t helpAlso, seeing someone who doesn’t work at that office is a big waste of time because the next visit would be another evaluation with someone new and i’d be paying $This isn’t my first visit to physical therapy, I’ve been doing at home exercises for months.I came for manual therapy, relief I cannot provide for myselfAnd the service was not providedMsM [redacted] tries to make it sound like I was the one who was not returning the phone calls,which is not trueI just didn’t make a follow up appointmentThe office made no attempts torespond to me in a timely manner when I called at least timesShe also has no comment for ignoring messages left specifically for her or the registered letter addressed to herI never once received any respondence from her in any form.I’m sure the insurance company does find the rates fair and reasonable, since they are the ones making moneyI didn’t demand my own price, that is the cash price for everychiropractor and physical therapist i’ve seen in California and Alaska [redacted] charged me $for manual therapy because I wasn’t billing insurance [redacted] billed me $through insurance and after speaking with their manager about my financial situation, they kindly adjusted the price to $cash.I have also paid my bill, as I did sign the waiver before beginning PTIt’s just the lack of professionalism and care that needs to be addressedIf anyone is a thief in this situation it is South Anchorage Physical TherapyTrying to steal almost $for falsely advertised, inadequate services Sincerely, [redacted] ***

I am sorry Ms*** was unhappy with her care at South Anchorage Physical TherapyI wish shehad talked to the therapist during her visit, stating she was looking for a different treatmentapproach than the one the therapist devisedAlternatively, I wish she had returned our call theweek following her appointment when we were inquiring about how things went and whether shewanted to rescheduleIf she had expressed unhappiness at that point, I would have gladly had hercome back in and treated her without chargeUnfortunately, Ms*** did not do either of thosethings and chose to complain only after receiving her billFrom her letter, it sounds as if this is notthe first time ** has incurred a large bill ($at another PT clinic), allowed it to go to herdeductible, the asked the clinic for a substantial discountThat additionally shows that she waswell aware of rates in Alaska.I am sorry she is unhappy and I don't know what else to sayI have a sinking feeling we could goback and forth on this over and overI stand by my prior response, "I am sorry that a client left myclinic unsatisfied, as I believe our office provides excellent physical therapyI have two post- graduate doctoral degrees, one in orthopedics and one in manual therapy and am a board certifiedorthopedic specialistMary Ann P*** was providing vacation coverage for me during the visit of thecomplaint M Ann and I attended both of the post-graduate doctorate programs together andshe is also aboard certified manual therapist, as well as a trainer and clinical mentor for the OlaGrimsby Institute Furthermore, Mary Ann is a Fellow of the American Academy of ManipulativeTherapyHer skill level is of the highest order.I have reviewed Mary Ann's charting on the visit in question and see a through evaluation, treatment plan d home recommendationsThere is no magic pill one can take to be rid of anorthopedic injury and often a patient needs to do home exercisesThe care appears entirely appropriate to my peer review
