I searched the internet to find a reputable breeder to buy a Chorkie puppy for myself and two young daughters. I am recently divorced and we had been wanting a puppy of our own for a long time. I came across the soonerpuppies.com ad and saw an adorably cute female puppy advertised with her other siblings by the name of ***. I contacted *** on the website form informing her of my interest to adopt *** into our family. I paid the deposit,took off from work and my daughters and I drove to Irving,Tx on August 7,2020 to pick up the newest member of our family. *** was every bit of adorable as we'd been told. I had to remove two ticks from her ears at a rest stop. She ate and played Friday, but by Saturday afternoon she wasn't eating, lacked energy,and had continual runny stools(those started on the car ride home). Sunday morning when I took her out of her crate, she wasn't doing well at all. I immediately took her to *** and spend $136 for them to evaluate her. I was told she had Coccidia and bloody stool and would require overnight hospitilization. I took her to ***paying $1,200 up front for 24 hr care and diagnosis),hoping they could help her. Sunday evening the doctors called to say *** had a heart murmur,couldn't produce enough red blood cells to sustain her life,was infested with parasites(hence the bloody stool), had a condition that caused pus to ooze from under her left ear,couldn't maintain adequate blood sugar levels(hers was 23,normal is 100),was prone to have seizures,and would need a blood transfusion($500 extra) or she wouldn't survive the night. I had to make the painful decision for her euthanized and made it a point to be there with her(only one person could attend due to Covid-19). My daughters and I were devastated that she was so sick. I was there with her at the end and she perked up when she heard my voice and I held her while they administered the barbitol.
the Chorkie stayed with my girls and I for a little over 2 weeks, in order for me to get her shots and de-wormings done along with her vet check etc. She had been given her shots and dewormed during that time. Her shot record is attached. On 8/6/20, she was checked by my veterinarian to ensure that she was healthy for travel. A copy of the health certificate was sent with her and is also attached with this.
We were attached to *** as well, and are heartbroken that this happened. She never had any sugar issues while in our care and always was a good eater. She never showed any signs of having any glycemia issues or problems with sugar levels. Her stool was firm and since she had been treated for internal parasites, we didn't have any reason to believe that she would have any trouble or we would not have let her go. The veterinarian also thought that she was safe to travel. She is a toy breed with small parents, and was going to be a very small puppy.
When she was delivered on Friday, 8/7/20, she ate well before she went, & showed no signs of any health issues. Our health guarantee is on our website. We do have our puppies checked out before they leave as well as offer a replacement puppy if the puppy has a life threatening genetic defect.
She had a bath on 8/6/20. No ticks were noticed, but she is too young for flea and tick preventive.
The other puppies that were in the litter have been safely delivered and have said nothing about the puppies having any health issues.
I honestly don't know why *** had these issues, and I wish that it hadn't happened. I gave a full refund to the buyer and have yet to see a single report from a veterinarian, because I wanted the buyer to have the funds to treat her, but my contract doesn't offer refunds, and also doesn't cover sugar issues. I am rejecting this response because:
I believe that someone failed ***, either it was the breeder who sold her to me or the breeder she received her from. I am attaching the medical record from the *** 24 hour Hospital that treated her and tried to save her life. *** was a very sick puppy and should've had the care she needed before she came into our family. A puppy that is well does not just stop eating and fall over less than 48 hours after being brought home. Bloody stools, vomiting and uneasy movements don't just happen on a car ride home. ***'s stool was wet in the car, the very first time she pooped on the puppy pad on my back seat. By the time I got ***, her health was too far gone for me to be able to really help her. No puppy should have to be treated this way and no family should be put in the position to euthanize their new puppy within two days of bringing her home. She was a sweetheart and my heart bleeds for her everyday. I wanted so badly to save her but I was helpless to do so. The doctors at the vet hospital told me that even if *** received the blood transfusion, there was no guarantee that she could rebound from the other issues she had.
The breeder doesn't seem to want to take responsibility for what happened to ***, but someone failed her. I am thankful that my money was refunded but I didn't want money, I wanted ***. She was the first puppy I bought and I'm so disappointed that things turned out the way that they did.

Again, I am sorry that Nyla died. I did what I could to make sure she was healthy before she left. A licensed veterinarian even checked her out the day before. A puppy can have a sugar issue when they are as small as she is and I wasn't there, so I don't know what happened, and there is nothing I can do about it now.
I apologize for the loss, and I did refund full payment for her. I can't bring her back.
