MrW [redacted] did not need a crystal ball because he knew there was something wrong with this vehicle all alongAlthough it would have been helpful, I also should not have needed a crystal ball to predict whether I would receive a truck in the advertised "runs great" condition I have an email from his assistant stating the vehicle had a large coolant leak and shipping was delayed in order to fix the problem I was told the vehicle was repaired, however, the shipper pointed out large amounts of coolant leaking from the vehicle upon delivery It took some time to rule out other causes before the head gasket was identified as the problem, but MrW [redacted] must have known there was a coolant leak (which is a telltale sign of a blown head gasket)The vehicle was in the shop over 80% of the two months I owned it before we knew the real problem Bottom line-- no way could MrW [redacted] have not known this vehicle had blown head gaskets, or at least some serious leakage problem, when he sold it to me He claims the truck was sold "as-is," however, he cannot escape the fact that he did not sell it "as advertised." I never would have purchased a vehicle with blown head gaskets or with a collant leak of unknown cause I wanted the vehicle that MrW [redacted] said--the "the vehicle [that] runs great." Please see attached email exchanges
Tell us why here...Sonoran Truck had no idea there was a head gasket problem with the truck when it left hereNow, months later, there is a problemThere is no way any warranty company would warranty a truck with 197,milesMr*** was aware of the mileage and I told him that we would not be responsible for anything that might happen because of the milesWe have no way of telling what might go wrongThis vehicle was taken to two different service centers, one being a certified diesel mechanic, before being sold and neither of the mechanic shops indicated that there was a problem with the head gasket.Sonoran Truck is willing to try and help for some the expense of repair but we will not pay for all of the repair expenseThe customer had the unit in his possession for over monthsI can understand if this problem was brought to out attention within days of receiving the vehicle, but months? Mr. W[redacted] did not need a crystal ball because he knew there was something wrong with this vehicle all along. Tell us why here...On Sept. 30th, 2016 Mr. [redacted] called about a truck he had seen advertised on eBay. A 2004 Chevrolet 3500 DRW Duramax Diesel. I informed him hat we had just sold that particular truck. He wanted a diesel truck for $15,000. I told him that was a hard vehicle to find. I did let...
him know we had another one in the back that we had just gotten in , but, it had 197,000 miles on it. He asked me if it was in good shape and I told him that it needed some paint work and a new seat because it was ripped. He then asked me if I gave any king of warranty with the purchase. I told him absolutely not because of the mileage. I would have no idea how long this truck would last. I gave him the option of having him send someone to come by and look it over. He declined that option. We took the vehicle to [redacted] located at [redacted] here in Phoenix, to have them look it over and fix anything that that they could find wrong with the truck. [redacted] put a glow plug in the unit. Mr. [redacted] bought the unit for %$14,500.00. We shipped the truck to Mr. [redacted] in California on Oct 5th, 2016. He called me after taking delivery of the truck and informed me that it had a leak coming from a hose and we fixed that for him. Two months later he called me to say that he was needing $6,000 for repairs. I feel bad about the situation, but, we cannot warranty trucks with the mileage this truck has. Mr. [redacted] signed an "As-Is" statement (see attached) and was aware of the mileage and the gamble one would take buying such a high mile vehicle. I do not have a crystal ball and would have no idea when something wrong might happen ti a truck with this kind of mileage on it. I am willing to help out with some of the expense, but I do not think I am responsible for the entire amount. This is a buyer beware state and most dealers will tell you just that. In Response to Eric [redacted] Complaint Revdex.com CID [redacted]Mr [redacted] did have his friend look the vehicle over before purchasing. Upon his inspection several items were noted as issues before the purchase was made. The price was then discounted several thousand dollars to appease Mr. [redacted]. To the best of my knowledge he isn't complaining about mechanical issues. Rather, Obvious cosmetic issues that his friend looking at the vehicle on his behalf should have noted. This is a 170,000 plus mile, 10 year old rig. Mr [redacted] should have a reasonable expectation of what a vehicle this year and miles should have. He wanted New Condition. The new condition ones are $90,000. I believe the customer has unrealistic expectations of what any vehicle will have as far as cosmetic defects for the age and miles and if he is truly that discriminating he should have flown in to view it himself. We do our very best on every transaction to avoid these types of complaints. However, No matter how hard you try. Things don't always go as smooth as anyone can hope for. I stand firm in my belief that for what he paid he received a beautiful Cadillac that was discounted substantially to make up for the minor cosmetic woes he is now complaining about. I did not have a mechanic look the vehicle over. I had a friend come by to talk price with Sonoran, and give it a quick once over. He was no mechanic, and performed no formal inspection on the vehicle. I went off of pictures, and the advertisement to make my decision. Again, Sonoran has committed fraud here. They advertised a ready to go, needs nothing vehicle. They absolutely lied in the advertisement of the vehicle.
Customer would not make a deal until he had his mechanic come by first to look the truck over, mechanic came and checked it out and gave thumbs up. We sold him a very nice SUV for a wholesale price, we could have gotten more at an auction than what he paid. We refuse to give him his money back....
His mechanic looked itover and gave his approval and that's enough for us.
