Their return policy, as printed on their receipts, is incomplete and unclearI needed to return an unused item, and I had the receiptMy return was after the 60-day refund window, so I did not expect a refund to my credit cardI phoned the store to ask if I could get a store credit, given that I had the receipt, and they said they would gladly issue a store credit
Once at the store, I was informed that I could be issued a store credit only for the current selling priceThis was not mentioned to me on the phoneAnd the back of the receipt states, "Returns WITHOUT the original receipt will be refunded at the lowest selling price in the form of a merchandise credit."
I later phoned the company's customer service department, and the representative justified my reduced store credit by trying to explain that it would be "unfair" [to the store]
They've lost a future customer over $StupidYou can get merchandise of equal or better quality, at comparable or lower prices, from a department store that offers more customer-friendly return policies
