We recently finished our 3.35kW solar install with Solar Tech, and we are extremely pleased with the process and finished resultAfter dozens of quotes from local installers, I found Solar Tech offers the best value of any residential solar companyWe were able to get a SunPower XEquinox AC system (with a 25yr warranty and one of the most efficient system options) at a price comparable to other mid-range systemsWe also decided to upgrade our main service meter panel, which turned out great and gives us the capacity to add additional solar in the future if neededOur energy consultant Drew was very professional and made sure that our install went smoothly every step of the wayThis company values their customers regardless of how large or small the installation size is, and does a high quality job on the installationI'd happily recommend Solar Tech for residential solar installations
We had a solar system installed in the fall of which also included a whole home battery backup made by LGWe were told the battery would be able to be monitored and would help to cut our evening energy use in addition to providing us power should an outage occurFrom day one of the battery being installed we have not been able to see any use from the batterySolar tech came out to inspect and made some "fixes" to the system, we were told everything was working properlyIn February we noticed the light that was normally lit in the "on" position was no longer lit on the batteryWe contacted Solar Tech and were told it would be looked intoIn April, we contacted Solar Tech again regarding the battery and were told this is the second time our battery had been completely discharged and we were now on a wait list for LG to send a chargerWe were not aware of the battery having needed to be re-charged the first time Over a month from this time Solar Tech finally came
I used a solar clearinghouse website to find the best rated companies in SoCal area and obtained bids from different companies Solar Tech had the most competitive price with the solar industry's best rated panels and equipment, sent me spec sheets for the products, including side by side comparisons of the warranty details of the leading panel and inverter manufacturers They gave me all the information I needed to compare and make a good choice without any hard sell and breaking it down so I was perfectly clear about what I needed and what was the best deal This company earned my business with the most competitive price and finance terms, superior solar products, honest sales approach, and overall highest technical competence An informed solar customer's dream transaction

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. Solartech has not proposed any remedial actions as of yet. Telling me that my system is working when it is not is not considered an action. I Never inferred that the final payment had been made to Solartech. Payments were made as follows: (7/20/12- $1000.00) (8/1/12- $50000.00) (8/4/12- $50000.00); all of these payments were made in advance of the associated work and were made in a timely manner. There is a balance due of $30000.00+/- when the system is 100% complete and this payment is being withheld. I did not request an engineer of my choosing; I only requested that another engineer be consulted. This request was made because the original engineer that Solartech utilized had designed a solar system that was to be tied to a single phase electrical service from SDG&E and the electrical service at this site is actually three phase. I actually spoke for the first time to the engineer;[redacted], on Thursday 1/9/14 and he then explained to me that the Solartech personnel had told him that it was a single phase electrical service and that the system as designed and installed would not work correctly. This was Solartech's engineer that said this; not an engineer of my choosing. This is the same thing that was told to me in May of 2013 by the solar equipment manufacturer's tech service and relayed to Jason [redacted] of Solartech personally by myself on 5/10/13 at the site. I had traveled to Santee from my home in Vermont to do a final walk-through of the installation and to hand deliver the final payment. During this walk-through it was found that the system was non-operational and that there was even wiring that was not terminated because it could not be finished due to the faulty design of the system. The truly sad thing that Mr. [redacted]'s claim that the state incentive money had been released to me is correct and I will surely be forced to return these funds to the CSI when they become aware of the situation. It has now been over 8 months since all of the deficiencies were brought to light and the system is still not working correctly. If this is the outcome of Solartech "making every attempt to make the customer happy" I would suggest that they should not be in this business as it has become painfully apparent to me that they do not know what they are doing.
