Good morning,
I have reviewed the patients chart as well as the happenings of the day. We are not contracted with Meridian and require an authorization to see patients with this insurance. Because on the day of the appt, we did not have...

any authorization for her to be seen she was given the option of rescheduling or to be seen as private pay at a $49 charge. The patient agreed, but then in conversations with our clinical staff it was brought up again that this is a covered service by insurance and they were not privy to the needs of the authorization to be in place in order for her office visit to be covered by Meridian.
It would seem there was a lack of communication on our part, and we certainly apologize that her expectations were not met.
At this time I will proceed with refunding the $49 charge to her.
