Review: The complaint is with the HR Certification Institute which is part of the Society For Human Resource Management. I wrote a letter on January 19, 2013 to HR Certification Institute because I was scheduled to take the SPHR Exam for the Winter Window on January 29, 2013. I underwent surgery at [redacted] on January 7, 2013. I began experiencing a complication from surgery and was re-admitted to [redacted] in [redacted], Nevada.

Because of the complications from surgery and a new medical problem discovered on admissions to [redacted], I could not attend/take the exam. I asked for the opportunity to re-schedule the exam in the Spring Testing window, May 1 - June 30 and apply the $375 that was paid. A letter from the surgeon, **. [redacted], [redacted] and admission documents from [redacted] were included with the request letter. The

HR Certification Institute refunded half of the money, for which I feel is extremely unethical and a corrupt business practice. No human being can foresee an emergency; a reputable business would allow for documented emergencies. I am asking for a full refund.Desired Settlement: I am asking for a full refund.
