This is in regard to consumer complaint # [redacted] On 6/10/ [redacted] brought in his HP glaptop in two halves, he told me his wife had broken it backwards in a rageI informed him that the laptop was likely not worth the repair as there were more components than just the hinges that would need to be replacedHe said "please, if there's any way you can get it back to working for cheap, I don't care how" I called [redacted] back with a quote of $as the top plastics and bottom plastics (which contain the grommets to secure the screen) and that it would all need replaced***called me back to tell me he had found the parts cheaper on ebay and that he didn't care what the repair looked like so long as the laptop opened and closed and that he wanted the repair as cheaply as possible (which is why we waited for cheap part after cheap part in the mail until the (inferior) vendors sent the correct hinges after sending me multiple sets) sets of the hinges that came in were the wrong model number and the customer insisted he wanted the cheaper price so we waited, finally the correct hinges arrived and were installed without issue, the total charge was $and I did let the customer know there was a one month warranty on the repair labor and to let me know if issues aroseI got a call in the beginning of september (I forget the date of the call, I think it was actually on 9/) from ***'s upset wife saying that the repair was shoddy (used in place of expletive) and that a screw had fallen out, I told her that her husband had opted not to replace the plastic parts and that the hinges were holding good but now the plastic definitely needed to be replaced (the husband had opted not to do so originally, he said he couldnt afford it) I told her to bring in the laptop and I would gladly give her a quote on the replacing piece(s) that had failed or even try to fix it (again, without the parts I originally recommended) for freeShe never came in I am still willing to look at her laptop, this is a case of the husband lying to the wife about repair cost and details and myself ending up under a busThe laptop was literally bent backwards and in two pieces when it was brought inThe laptop opened/closed with new hinges (solidly) when it left the shop, which was all I was asked by ***to doThe wife has been nothing but accusatory since day In regards to their parent's system needing to be fixed somewhere else?! I would have gladly fixed it as they were under warrantyAll they had to do was bring it inI stand by my word and my work and haven't had any serious complaints (I've been a tech for years) until I met this family

This response is nearly a complete fabrication with small bits of truth
I will gladly respond to each of this providers inaccuracies
First, The number I called was for a company called SGT, who had done work for me in the pastLater did I find out that *** (a former employee of SGT had somehow taken over this company's phone number and posted his sign at the property they were removed fromWhen I talked to ***, I did not ever ask for inferior parts, I asked if we were able to get the same hinges on ebay, which I was told is possible by another companyHe said yes we could and there was quite a price difference but would take a few more days to get inAt this point he gave me the price without seeing the computer, so his claim that he inspected it first is inaccurateThis was not a problem with meThe problem arose when two months later he still had not gotten my parts inAt that time I specifically asked him to call HP and get the correct partsHis response was that he called HP and it was one of those 'odd ball' cases where HP didnt even know the part number for the model laptop I hadI offered to call HP myself to figure it out and he said there is no use and he has more on the wayHe claims when he called Hp they didnt know the part number so they gave him a phone number to the company that made it, in a different country, which he claims he made an international call to but hung up when the person who answered didnt speak englishThe several times he had my computer never once did he mention any black plastic pieces and certainly I did not ever claim to not be able to afford two five dollar parts that would hold my laptop togetherThat is ridiculasThere was also nothing about this situation hidden from my wife, she was present for every call and was the one who picked up and dropped off the computer several times throughout this processAlso, she was never explicit on the phone with himHe also never offered to fix the computerHe said he will give her another estimate if we brought it in for a whole new screenThere is also the issue of him swapping our battery with a battery with an X drawn on it in permanent marker which has not held a charge since he had itWe do not want him to 'fix' our computer again, we want refunded so we can have it fixed properly and our original battery returned, as statedHe claims the warranty was for a monthI called him on 6-and he believes 9-it took over two months for the partsThat falls in the month catagoryThis man is a liar and a thiefHis business has not been open for years so all the past complaints have been forwarded to SGT which was kicked out of their building and put out of businessHe is or was operating out of his moms houseThats not someone who has been in business longI will be satisfied with the outcome, again, once my money and battery are returned The Revdex.com is more than welcome to contact my wife or I regarding the facts of this situation, which surely are not coming from this business operator

I 'somehow' took over that phone number when SGT went out of businessit closed and took their customers (which ** was never one of, with it), which has nothing to do with this, yes, the shop was temporarily set up at my family's home, we are now located at W Main St in Amelia OHSo far as the battery, I haven't taken anyones battery and generally I will mark them with a red 'x' on the inside label if they test at below manufacturer's recommended capacityHe has his battery, it's the very same one he came in with, I fixed his hinges, which is exactly what he requested and he was made aware that a repair WITH the correct plastic replacement parts was a better idea from the get-go
I've even offered to look at this laptop again and repair it 'as is' with no new parts/warranty or give a quote on replacing the 'still damaged' partsI don't know what more to say here except you aren't getting anything from me other than what's already been offered
I'd also like to add, so the Revdex.com representative is aware, the complaintant has seen fit to plaster his bad review on several search engine listings for my shop, he seems more intent of trying to hurt my business image, which he won't, than trying to reach a resolution in this matterUpon reviewing his companies' "Active Paws Mobile Grooming" complaints on Yahoo, I feel much better

Every time I come to Snowden PC repair, the more I am impressed with this business and its owner Brad S*** I know the shop is small, but don't let that fool you We are very lucky to have such a bright and honest PC repair guy in our area In terms of your specific problems and broad based knowledge, I have yet to find anyone that comes close to Brad

I am still willing to look at her laptop, this is a case of the husband lying to the wife about repair cost and details and myself ending up under a bus. The laptop was literally bent backwards and in two pieces when it was brought in. The laptop opened/closed with new hinges (solidly) when it left the shop, which was all I was asked by [redacted]. to do. The wife has been nothing but accusatory since day 1. 
 
In regards to their parent's system needing to be fixed somewhere else?! I would have gladly fixed it as they were under warranty. All they had to do was bring it in. I stand by my word and my work and haven't had any serious complaints (I've been a tech for 18 years) until I met this family.
