I had an appointment with *** Technical Support for 8:AM this past MondayAt the appointed time, I answered the expected callThe man on the other end identified himself as the technician to fix my computer problemHe guided me into an online siteHe then told me that my computer had significant problems, and couldn't be fixed unless I purchased a package of softwareI explained that I had a subscription with *** He said that this software was extraAt no time did he say that he was not working for *** I gave him a credit card and he installed the software and began a scan of my computerHe said that it would repair my problemsFive minutes after he was done, *** in fact did call and said that I had been scammedWe deleted his software and I cancelled the charge with my bankI also changed all of my passwordsHe is now calling my home many times each day
My biggest concern is that he knew of my problem and even knew the exact time and date of my appointment with ***
