I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.]The “blowback” was present when your employee ,[redacted] ,checked out the engine on December 9 2015.He in my presence spent 5 minutes cleaning the bottom of the emgine and placed a dye in the engine to aid in checking out all the leaks in the future.Your presentation of the facts is dishonest and very troubling. The engine is a GM V8 and it holds 7 quarts of oil. To get a accurate measurement of the oil level the engine should be cold and the oil should be allowed to settle in the bottum where the level is measured. The engine was checked with in minutes of my arival at the dealership. The engine was warm. [redacted] took a picture of the dip stick and it still showed a oil level on the high side. Your “if at all” is misleading and telling. You are also totally ignoring the picture of the dip stick I took when I first noticed the leakage. Also, the original oil change occurred on September 27 2015. The [redacted] visit was on December 9 2015.That 2 months of leaking and the oil level was still on the high side when the engine was warm. The garage floore pictuee shows oil stains representing the damage and leakage. The vast majority of the leakage occurred when I was driving home from and backing and forth to you dealerchip twice trying to meet with [redacted]. The system is under constant oil pressure when on the road and the vast majority of the leakage occurred when traveling. The “ blowback” that was cleaned by [redacted] would represent this fact. Maybe it’s time to stop these used car salesman tricks and innuendo, admit whate happened and settle this.
Regards,
[redacted]
As I stated to Mr. [redacted] on the telephone, my offer of replacing the alternator and cable (which is what I am told is currently wrong with the car) free of charge still stands. It is our position that if the alternator were in fact the cause of the listed items, these problems would...
have presented themselves much, much faster. The alternator repair he is referring to was done on 7/26/12, more than 2 years ago. Further, the car in question is now 12 years old with well over 100K miles and unfortunately this model has been prone to electrical issues. Asking for $6000 I believe to be irrelevant and over reaching. This is purely a goodwill offer. If Mr. [redacted] does not feel comfortable coming to the dealership, the repair could be done at our facility on [redacted] in [redacted] that he has visited as recently as 4/18/14 when he had his emissions checked.
