Smitty's installed a tile floor in the hallway on 06/03/17. Shortly after the install the tiles began "popping" up making the floor uneven and a tripping hazard. They did replace 12 tiles, but it didn't even begin to fix the problem. My daughter and I have made at least twenty phone calls and three visits to the store. When we call no one will speak with us. We keep getting promised a return phone call, but they never call. I am 85 and walk with a walker. This is very dangerous for me.
In response to customer's complaint, we did install tile in her hallway. She called worried about a tile coming loose. When we arrived she couldn't show us any loose tile. The type of tile she purchased is a wood look that's skinny with long plank lengths. The tendency of these planks is that they have what's called lippage. Please see the attached article. Our installers replaced more than half of the tile in the hallway that day. We changed more tiles than we needed to ensure that she would be happy.Customer called shortly after saying that she still was concerned about the floor. She does use a walker and may feel that it is un-even do to the difference between grout and tile. We suggested maybe she should switch to a vinyl product to eliminate her concerns of falling. She came in and spoke with one of our sales staff. They decided on a product and we intended on going over the tile for her with vinyl, free of charge to make her happy. All of her concerns were answered in a timely fashion as well as all of her calls have been answered by one of our staff. Please contact us with any further questions regarding this complaint.

We have not been made an offer to replace since we cannot get any response from the owner. We have talked to his staff, but they are unable to make any decisions on the owner’s behalf. The owner has promised to call, email and meet with us in person, but has never done so. This is more than uneven tiles, part of it actually feels like a nail in your foot. You cannot walk barefoot on this floor and with shoes, unless you are able to walk “heel to toe” you are definitely going to trip, even if you don’t use a walker. I have had several people who install tiles tell me that this was installed improperly.Phone calls attempting to resolve:07/06/17 1:59, 07/17/17 2:13, 07/21/17 2:50, 07/22/17 12:39, 07/31/17 5:10, 08/02/17 2:56, 08/05/17 6:3208/07/17 6:32, 08/10/17 10:23, 08/11/17 11:10, 08/16/17 12:28

The floor is within industry standards. We are willing to skim over the tile and install a vinyl product.
