Hello,
My name is *** and my family lives in an RV Park in Lynnwood, WA. We attended the Tour De Terrace in Mountlake Terrace, over this past weekend. Smith Brothers Farm had a booth there and we signed up for milk delivery. The milk man tried to make the delivery on 8/1/2017 but did not make the deliver because "he felt uncomfortable." I called and spoke to a Custiomer Service Representative and I also spoke to a manger named Gina. Gina said that Smith Brothers Farms has a policy in which they do not deliver to RV Parks, they also dont deliver to RV Parks because the increase of theft. I am financially laible for my milk box though. It isn't really there problem if my box gets stolen. It's my financial responsibility.
This is a form a discrimination based on where I live. People in the park have lived there days, months and even years. Some of my neighbors have lived there for 15plus years. I have currently lived there for 5months now. Every type of delivery service has delivered to my park including but not limited to uber eats, usps, ups, ontrac, prime now, dominos, Pizza Hut, and much, munch more.
My family consists of me, my pregnant wife and my 2year old son. We are trying to make our life easier by having milk delivered. For them to have a policy that prohibits deliver because I live in an RV Park is a form of Discrimination.
Hello,
We're very sorry that we are not able to deliver to the complainant's home. It sounds like there was a miscommunication on our part. We do not have a policy against delivering to RV parks. We leave it to the milkman's discretion if he or she does not feel we can serve a location. Examples where the milkman may decide that we cannot deliver to a home include: locked gates, roads with poor access or egress, aggressive dogs, and other concerns. We also make deliveries in the middle of the night, so we have safety concerns that are unique to our home delivery business. Again, as our milkmen are the one's making deliveries, they have full discretion to determine if a location can or cannot be served. When signing up at an event, the person at the booth would not be able to predict the milkman's decision. In some regrettable instances, we sign up customers and subsequently learn that we cannot make deliveries to the address.
Again, we are very sorry that we are not able to deliver to the complainant's home and the miscommunication that followed. We understand how disappointing it must be to look forward to your first delivery, and instead hear the unfortunate news that we cannot serve your home.
Best regards,
Bob C.Smith Brothers Farms
