Smiling Sun Vacation Rentals LLC

We rented a house from Smiling Sun Vacation Rentals LLC from Sept. 11, 2014 to Sept. 14, 2014 for our family, as we were attending a family wedding nearby.
When we arrived, the owner of the house, [redacted]'s mother) would not allow us to stay at the property and threatened to call the police if we did not leave immediately. We had paid US$3,400.00 to stay at the house (eight people).
[redacted] and [redacted] refused to refund any of the money - not the US$500.00 security deposit, not the $425.00 cleaning fee, not the rent. They lied that they had given us a fob and that because we had lost this, we were not allowed to stay at the property. We never received ANY object when we arrived on Sept. 11. To add injury to insult, [redacted] and her son [redacted], stayed at the house during the time we paid to rent it.
Subsequent dealings with the [redacted]-[redacted] family led to no rational resolution. They claimed that the rental agreement states that you have to cancel 45 days earlier to receive a full refund. We had never cancelled! We had been threatened and told to leave!
In the end we had to call the police. We still are out $3,400.00.
We do not recommend renting ANY of the properties that '[redacted] or her brother [redacted] advertise. You might end up with a most dreadful vacation experience.
[redacted] uses the name '[redacted] on [redacted] and [redacted] rents out properties in Arizona and the UK.
We had to find alternate accommodation at the last minute and due to [redacted] and her mother [redacted], were out a total of US$5000.00 for three days of accommodation.
This is no way to run a vacation rental business.
