Review: I received an email from the thanking me for a loan that was supposed to have been completed by me. The only problem was the email was address to my previous marriage name ending in [redacted]. I have no used this name in 10 years. I tried to contact them to see what was going on but all I can get is a voice-mail saying my number is recorded and someone will call back. I had a great experience with Smart Choice. I was able to obtain a small loan the same day.
Review: The Smart Choice Company that advertise on [redacted] refuse to refund the membership fee of $12.99.I paid for the Membership on Saturday, January 31, 2015 on my [redacted] Prepaid Debit Mastercard, in an attempt to receive help in getting a short term loan needed for apartment rent. I requested a refund on Monday, February 2, 2015 because I do not have a fax machine to send them paperwork; retirement awards letter, pension stub, copy of drivers license and utility bill (paying for faxing these items at Office Max will cost me - no guarantee I will get the loan). I was advised by [redacted] that the money will be refunded. On Friday, February 6, 2015 - I was told that my request for a loan was denied - Second Chance. As of this date my money has not been returned. I WAS NEVER TOLD THAT THE MEMBERSHIP FEE WAS NONREFUNDABLE. I paid a loan off with this company before $30.00 and paid a Membership Fee - ($10.00?) - [redacted] when their office was in Petersburg, VA (went out of business). They also received the paperwork the first time.Desired Settlement: I need my money refunded now. I am a Retiree - Disabled having a pending claim with an Attorney.I need this money for essential for medication etc. If I cannot get a loan with them, they have no reason to keep the Membership Fee. I have made numerous calls, sent E-Mail and messages on line at their website - no solution.

I went to the website and was approved for a loan. I had to pay a $12.95 fee, I didn't like this to much. My experience with the customer care representative was pleasant and informative.
Review: Hello! In the middle of January 2015, I was looking for a loan of $1000! I researched and I came across an ad in the financial section on Craigslist and for smartchoiceva.com, so I applied. Originally I was turned down, but I was eligible for Smart Choice "Second Chance Program", but in order to be eligible I had to pay a fee of $12.95 for their membership program. So I paid the fee and was told by a representative on their website chat room that Smart Choice would be the lender once I paid the fee and submitted over additional document, which were my 2 paystubs. So I did that and was told processing would take a couple of business days. To make a long story short, those couple of days ended up being a couple of weeks and I had not heard anything from them so I called them and was told that my loan was declined. I told the representative that I was told once I paid the fee and submitted the supporting documents they would honor the loan. I cannot afford to just give away $12.95 and get nothing in return.Desired Settlement: At this point I just want my $12.95 refunded!
