Worst hotel possible. We had a gift card. We got to the hotel the night of our stay and the front desk clerk looked up the balance on our card and confirmed it had $150 on it. She could not figure out how to enter it in her system but advised they had accepted them in the past so she had to figure it out. To allow more time we went to diner and came back. She had still not figured it out but said they would except it as long as we left the card so they could get the refund from the corporate office. Days following I ended up have a pending charge against my Credit card. Few days later I received a call from the manager at the hotel who advised that they would be charging my credit card for the stay when I asked to speak to the manager I was given to a Lady who was says she was the owner who ended up calling me a thief and a liar. That evening I called the corporate office and was advised that there should be no charges and that if anything did come up I was to let them know. Three weeks later I have a new charge pending against my credit card. I called back to the corporate office and was advised now that the specific hotel we visited is not a participating location to the gift card and there is nothing they can do about it and that we should have known if that hotel was a participating location. They are refusing to even return the gift card but still want to charge my credit card. I find it interesting First Lady told me she seen everything and that I should not be charged but now this corporate person tonight is telling me something else.
This guest was advised at check in that we would accept the gift card subject to it being accepted by the issuer which did not happen as issuer was unable to verify the gift card. She was also advised that her credit card would be charged if hotel was not able to receive payment for the stay. At this point she was called to be informed that we can mail out the gift card back to her and post the charges on her credit card, to which the guest declined and started being abusive. At present hotel is working with issuer on the gift card and meanwhile to close of the account guest had to be charged, and therefore this is an invalid complaint. Depending on the outcome, guest will receive communication from hotel. Corporate office has reached out to the guest and are in the process of mailing her out a check.
