Slater Transfer and Storage, Inc.

The customer called us here at Slater Transfer and Storage, and made us aware of the issues and complaints she had with her Interstate move.  She stated that she was primarily unhappy with the delivery of her move, and accused the delivering crew of stealing her jewelry at destination. ...

Please understand that the driver represents Atlas Van Lines through his agent "Ace", is not affiliated in any way with Slater Transfer.  The Ace driver had his own traveling crew to assist him with both loading and unloading (James and Joshua).    We have explained to the customer that since neither the driver, nor his hired helpers have any direct affiliation with Slater Transfer, we are unable to resolve this matter to her satisfaction by reprimanding, or firing the driver, or his hired crew, or reducing the costs of her move.  This matter must be taken up with the driver, his agent, or with Atlas Van Lines Corporate.   The Customers accusation that the hired help on the delivery end took her jewelry is a criminal matter, and we advised her to file a police report.  We are willing to cooperate fully with any investigation into the matter, as I am sure the driver, his agent, as well as Atlas Van Lines will all cooperate to whatever extent possible.  We provided the customer with the phone numbers necessary to voice her concerns, and initiate any claims.  The fact that this move is an interstate move, Slater's involvement or role in the move was limited.  Because of that limited role, as stated above, the customer complaints and requests for reduction in costs  cannot be resolved by Slater Transfer. This matter was properly turned over to Altas Van Lines for the handling of the customers claim, and she must pursue a resolution through one of these other parties .    We have made every effort to properly communicate this information to the customer and assist her to the extent possible.
