Avoid this place at all costs
I've spent a few years here and it has been nothing but downhill since renewing my lease.

The leasing office staff are extremely rude and condescending. I have had major package theft issues here and when discussing my concerns with the staff, their attitudes were nasty and they were using sarcasm and passive-aggressive statements towards me even though I have made a point to be courteous with them. I am not the only one who has had this issue and it has become widespread across the building. Other tenant's packages being stolen left and right. The security camera in the mailroom is located at the very back of the room and unable to pick up any footage.

The apartment isn't very secure and nearly anyone can access the building despite it being gated.

My rent skyrocketed from $1545/month to $1945/month in the course of one year. I live in a 1BR that is less than 800 feet. You can live somewhere much nicer and more spacious for the same cost, or somewhere that is just as nice and the same size for LESS.

It took them three months to replace my dryer and over a year for my washer despite submitting one maintenance request after another after another. When I finally called to complain, they told me (very rudely) that this was untrue and that I had never submitted any requests. I accessed the maintenance request ID #'s and read them off to the lady who had told me I was lying, who then went silent.

The door handles to access the elevator and parking garage are nearly always broken, so if you take the stairs down to access your car, you are unable to get into the garage, and then you have to walk back up the same stairs you just went down, get into the elevator, and ride back down.

The elevators are constantly breaking down.

There is an issue with people throwing their trash everywhere instead of the waste disposals or trash bins.

Please listen to my warning if you are considering living here. They will act extremely nice and gracious to your face, but once you lock in and sign your lease, the mask slips.

Our community's lease agreement states the following "You have surrendered the apartment when: (1) the move out date has passed and no one is living in the apartment in our reasonable judgment; or (2) all apartment keys and access devices listed in paragraph have been turned in where rent is
paid--whichever date occurs firstAn apartment is also "surrendered" days after the death of a sole resident." In order for Skywater to lawfully check if the premises are no longer occupied we would need to serve a hour notice to enter through a processes server. This would have meant we would not have been able to verify occupancy until May 25th or 26th depending on the process server. *** and her daughter turned in keys to the office on May 25th.After discussing the situation with *** on June 21st and understanding there may have been some miscommunication between all parties, in good faith we waived the additional days and counted her moved out as the one scheduled on the notice to vacate, being the 22nd of May. On June 22nd I personally called *** and gave her the adjusted amount of the refund which was more than she was expecting in the amount of $238.55. *** agreed to this amount and thanked me. I am under the impression this issue has been resolved and that *** and Skywater have come to a mutual agreement.

An apartment is also "surrendered" 10 days after the death of a sole resident."  In order for Skywater to lawfully check if the premises are no longer occupied we would need to serve a 48 hour notice to enter through a processes server.  This would have meant we would not have been able to verify occupancy until May 25th or 26th depending on the process server.  [redacted] and her daughter turned in keys to the office on May 25th.After discussing the situation with [redacted] on June 21st and understanding there may have been some miscommunication between all parties, in good faith we waived the additional days and counted her moved out as the one scheduled on the notice to vacate, being the 22nd of May.  On June 22nd I personally called [redacted] and gave her the adjusted amount of the refund which was more than she was expecting in the amount of $238.55.  [redacted] agreed to this amount and thanked me.  I am under the impression this issue has been resolved and that [redacted] and Skywater have come to a mutual agreement.  -Jessica
