The customer was contacted and informed that our return police states, "End user damage to any product voids all warranties". We have an Acer Aspire 5754 computer, 3 years old, overheating and shutting off before opening Windows. The fan hard drive and screen were working. BIOS would not initialize. Ordered a "tested and refurbished" motherboard from Skyline Engineering website. Website very helpful and clear about what numbers on the motherboard to match. The shipment arrived within 3 days as requested with the correct part. The computer is running great now for a reasonable price for the part.
Review: I recently purchased a motherboard for my Acer Aspire computer from this company for $280.00 which included shipping. A good deal I thought. . My tech told me that the CPU socket had several bent pins. Skyline was good enough to replacement it. When I received the replacement I took the unopened box to my tech at Fry's in Burbank, Ca. When he opened the box and saw the MB, it was evident that this socket was also damaged. This was reported to the owner of Skyline who declined to refund the charges to my credit card. I needed a computer ASAP. I am not at all pleased with the customer service received from the owner. I have worked in the manufacturing industry for a number of years., one as a Quality control inspector. I know that sometimes things wrong to a product for what ever reason BEFORE it leave the manufacture. I have also worked many years in customer satisfaction for a large private university. My point is this. There is no reason to refuse a request for a refund due the damaged product. This vendor has only to return the damage product to his supplier or the manufacture. This way customers are retained and the end user will return and spread goodwill among friends and clients. I worked 40 years and lost all my savings and retirement in the last market fiasco. I now live strictly on my SSI. A loss of another $280 is a very big deal to me. I ask the owner this: "What would you do if this was the way your mother or grandmother was being treated this way by a business?" So I know how to deal with the owner.
[redacted]Desired Settlement: Refund to credit card.
