Review: We have been with Skybeam for numerous years. After about 4 months after buying the service to upgrade from a different ISP, we suddenly got 60%+ packet loss over our connection. A technician came out after approx. 1 year of constant complaints filed over the phone. The technician decided to replace our antennae, which he did. The service worked fine for about 2 years with minimal down time and consistent speeds. In August, 2014, our speeds took a plummet, and I mean PLUMMET. We went from getting what we payed for to getting speeds on AVERAGE .2mbps (down from the 5mbps we pay for.) We tried calling them NUMEROUS times only to be told to restart our router/antenna, which we did, and then they said they would send a ticket to the service department. This was a month a go. We have yet to receive a response. So, after MANY more phone calls and emails to Skybeam, we were ALSO told we were getting charge NEARLY TWICE AS MUCH because we were signed up for a service THEY TOLD US WASN'T AVAILABLE IN OUR AREA. We were getting charged for a 20mbps plan when the tower we could reach was only able to provide 5mbps. So after YEARS of getting charged nearly 75% more than we were supposed to, we received nothing more than a subtle apology. They stole thousands of dollars WHILE providing lackluster service (~90% of the time our speeds are below .3mbps.) They have no comment for us. The LEAST Skybeam could do is allow us to have an internet connection that is at least a FIFTH of what we pay for.Desired Settlement: We for one want our service BACK to what it used to be. We have been getting service SLOWER THAN DIAL UP because we have not been helped in our issues. We want a refund for all of the money Skybeam STOLE from us, after being charged for the wrong service for so many years. The least you could do is allow us, a family that has their entire business run on the internet, have a connection to the internet that is at least half of what we pay for.
