Skateworld

I went for a birthday party with my 6 year old in Gresham. They charged me and when they didn't have any skates in my size refused to refund my money. They gave me a "free" pass, actually I paid so it's NOT free! When I finally got a hold of the manager Josh, he was unapologetic and let me know Skateworld gets scammed often and he had to investigate and get back to me in a few days. He didn't get back to me so I drove there and asked for my refund in person. He told me, "Good news, we got more skates!" That sure didn't fix me not being able to skate with my child who can't skate last week! The customer service was TERRIBLE! I returned my paid for "free" pass and let him know that I will tell every student and parent and teacher, as I am a teacher, NOT to ever use this business again! I will highly recommend Oaks Park. I hope the $10 was worth it to this non caring non community oriented corporate skate world business.

Review: We took our family skating, there was no air conditioning and it was extremely hot inside the building. After about 40 minutes I approached a manager, I was told to "Live with it", when I asked for a refund as we could not continue, I was denied. A few minutes later I was asked to leave for "Sitting on the wrong bench", after the security guard making racial remarks to me.Desired Settlement: Refund & apology.

Thank your for sending us a complaint about a customer of ours on the night of 6/14/14. We are happy to address this issue as we had several customers complain about this particular person that night. Following the incident I had several messages/emails regarding his feedback on Facebook.

We will not be issuing the man a refund as we did not charge him admission. We do not charge adult chaperones for admission into our skating rink. Several witnesses can confirm that he made several racial slurs towards our door man/security guard which we are happy to provide testimony for. Our security guard was simply asking him to move to a different section of the rink as the seat he was sitting in is generally reserved for those putting on and removing their skates as it is located directly in front of our skate counter. It was at that point that he was asked to leave for using swear words and making racial comments towards our employees.

I do apologize if this information was not properly explained to him and that he did not feel he was treated fairly. I am happy to offer him two skating passes for future use if that would help mend this situation.
