Review: Simon Electric removed old bathroom fan and installed a new one. Installed 4" ducting hose from fan to gable vent in August 2015. Fan has not worked properly for a several weeks and bathroom fills with steam when showering. . I contacted another company to come in and check it. Found that it is vented improperly and vent pipe is full of water due to improper installation. I contacted Simon and complained and he said they have done this type of venting many times and had no problem. I went up in the attic with the repairman and saw the flexible venting sagging under the weight of water and felt the water on top of the fan.Desired Settlement: I asked Mr. Simon for a partial refund because of the improper venting and he declined saying he gave me a good price ($559.00) for the job and was not going to refund me any money.

Complaint # [redacted]In response to the complaint lodged against me by Ms. [redacted], I was hired to remove and Install a bathrooom fan. This job was completed in August 2015. I did not hear of any complaints about this job until January 2016- that's five months later. Ms. [redacted] did not call me when she had an Issue with the fan she called a HVAC man.The customer paid $559.00 for this job. That included all the materials- including the exhaust fan and the flex pipe venting, it also Included the labor. It took me several hours to do. I had to take out the old fan and retrofit the new fan into the place the old fan was. This was no easy task. The old fan left a large hole in ceiling, so I had to get a large fan to take up the space and make It look right, After taking down the old fan I had to take measurements and go out to find a new fan that would fit into the large space. I was working in an attic crawl space in the August heat. These bathroom exhaust fans are sold to use flex pipe as an option to vent. PLEASE NOTE: Ms. [redacted] did not pay the price that a hard pipe vent would have cost, it would have been alot more money. I have done hundreds of these fans over the 20 years I have been in business, and this is the very first complaint I have had lodged against me with the Revdex.com,l‘m sorry this didn't work out but Ms, [redacted] did not pay for hard pipe venting, If she wants to do It in hard pipe she will need to hire a HVAC person, not an electrician. I do not install haard pipe. Ms. [redacted] was not overcharged. She was well aware she was getting flexable hose because that is the only thing I install and I did go over that with her. I do not do hard pipe and she did not pay the price a hard pipe would have been.Sincerely,David * S[redacted]
