I am waiting for a proper resolution to my complaint about missing and
broken items. I would like for the moving company to call me at ###-###-#### to find a reasonable resolution. I have been as cooperative and patient as I can be under the circumstances, and am now eager to receive compensation for my items.*** ***
Ms*** -I apologize for you being less than completely satisfied with serviceI am glad you were moved into your new home safelyWe do have to bill for our time spent serving youAt $per hour, we are barely able to cover our costs for the staff of the two specialistsAfter insurance,
worker's comp, employer taxes, fuel, general repair of equipment, we are not able to operate for lessAdditionally, our staff are full time specialists with benefitsThis means they are paid significantly more than a rogue labor company that does not retain employees but instead uses day laborIt is extremely expensive for us to provide that $80,truck and good clean gentlemen who know what they are doing in your homeI would however like to be certain you are satisfied. Please phone me directly at *** *** *** so that we can reach a conclusion. Regards,*** *** *** ***Silverback Moving

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of why I am rejecting this response appear below:I HAVE BEEN A NIGHTMARE TO DEAL WITH?!?! that is laughable! I have been patient and persistent and they have done NOTHING to resolve my complaint - except hope that I would go away! The "discounts" reply he supplied (which is his default response to people) is bc he grossly underestimated my job to begin with - and made $1800+ off of my quoted job! He removed the lunch minutes and the cost of lunch bc we provided ithe remove the 3rd truck cost - bc we did not need a 3rd truck and it carried only 4'x4' item - we need the 3rd team which he failed to quote in the first placeAnd then hides behind the "non-binding contract" statementIf the actual charges were a couple hours off...then I think most people would understandIt was TWO TIMES MORE THAN WHAT HE ESTIMATED!!!! and he continues to use the "non-binding" contract excuse?!?! MY experience with S*** *** *** / Silverback Moving has been the nightmareThis company has so many similar complaints as mine it is incredible they are allowed to even operate still! I have been persistent trying to get a resolution from *** and *** - but bc I am a woman being persistent and not putting up with their lies and s*s - I am a nightmare?!!? In my original attachment, I included the email trailYou have seen how many time si have asked them to explain why the quote was so grossly underestimatedand no on will answer that questionThis is how they get business...they low ball and then take 2x longer than quotesI signed the agreement because the movers would not leave my home at midnight (-hours after I expected they would be completed - bc of ***'s estimate) until I did! AND that was the first time I was allowed to review it - the day of the move...specifically at midnightso they can lose over $of my belongings, some of them irreplaceable, and then overcharge me @$and I AM THE NIGHTMARE?!>?!What am I supposed to do? I researched S*** *** ***s - which is actually Silverback MovingThey are so poorly run that they need to have a "cover name" to hide their poor business practicesI am heartbroken that they can get away with such a s*this is a BAIT AND SWITCH!Is this seriously being allowed to continue to happen to people?!? my next course of action is to consult with my legal friend and take action to ensure they cannot continue to s*** peoplethis is absolutely ridiculous that this is allowed!

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of why I am rejecting this response appear below:
The business's statement for that I want to free of charge for the second day service is not true. I want the charge consistent with the estimation, I am willing to paid the maximum amount of the estimate plus 25% over run or so. But nearly 100% over estimated maximum amount is not the professional business's behavior. Consumer get estimation for planning and budgeting and to know the worst case. This also indicates the business crew can not run efficiently. The same amount or even more furniture's had been moved before from this house and it was one day job. The estimation was about right and same with other company's. If business is not able to delivery, it needs to correct the error. Consumer should not responsible for the mistake business made.

Ms. [redacted] had received a number of discounts already on the day of service. Additionally and more importantly, she had signed a detailed contract that agreeing to all billing terms prior to service commencing. Ms. [redacted] signed that she understood she was moving under a non-binding estimate, and...
would be required to pay for the hours that she had been served. After service was complete, she had signed the contract agreeing that she was satisfied with service rendered and approved of charges. Ms. [redacted] has been an absolute nightmare to deal with. We will not be discounting her bill any further.Regards,**
[redacted] - I apologize that you were less than satisfied with your move. Considering our staff operate motor vehicles, we test for marijuana and other substances at random. As far as the totes go, we are unable to insure packages that we do not personally pack. We do have a contract that you had...
signed and agreed to prior that states the steps we would take in this scenario if we had packed it. If you'd like we can proceed with those steps. It would be best for you to contact me directly at [redacted] so I can ask the necessary questions.Regards, [redacted]
To whom it may concern - Mr. ** scheduled our service agreeing to an hourly rate and a service fee per truck used. It was described in detail prior to Mr. ** scheduling service that our firm bills hourly for labor services rendered. Prior to service commencing, Mr. ** agreed with several...
signatures that the he understood the moving of his home was being billed for hourly by our firm. He also agreed with two signatures that his service was transpiring under a non-binding estimate. On the second day of service, Mr. ** expressed he would no longer be paying for service and wanted our firm to finish the moving of his furniture free of charge. It is extremely expensive for our firm to operate, so this unreasonable demand was not practical. Michigan law permits moving services to operate COD, or cash on delivery. That means if client does not choose to pay for the labor extensive service rendered, our firm has a lien on the furniture we are handling. We have operated within the law and within our contract with client. Although the law and our contract permits us to hold Mr. **'s pieces until he pays for every hour of labor we have rendered, we are willing to make concessions with discounts so that we are able to resolve this matter. Mr. ** must pay for services rendered on 7/10 and a predetermined flat rate of four hours for delivery. We will not bill for additional trucking fees although it costs our frim upwards of $700 to provide these services. Mr. ** is welcome to phone me directly at [redacted] to arrange delivery or pickup. Regards, [redacted]
Mr. ** - Last we spoke you had said the gentlemen worked very hard for you the entire time. Furthermore, you went on to say the gentlemen did a great job. There was never a maximum estimate. Nor was there a "do not exceed." You agreed to an hourly rate with signatures prior to service commencing. You also agreed that your home was moving under a non-binding estimate. You also agreed that you would pay for each hour spent moving you to cover our expenses and compensate staff. We have made several concessions at this time that you are well aware of. The truck's, staff's time, and other resources that were discussed will be complimented. However, we are operating within the law and the contract requiring that pay for the labor hours that were spent serving you. You are welcome to phone me directly at [redacted].Regards,**
[redacted] -I apologize that you were not completely satisfied with service. This is the first I have heard of your concern. Please phone me directly at [redacted] to better care for you.Regards,[redacted] Silverback Moving[redacted]

I don't find [redacted]s response to be accurate. He discounted our bill because his movers caused damage to our walls. There were also the stolen items including jewelry and priceless things left to me by my grandfather that can never be replaced. When we told [redacted] what was missing he didn't even say oh let me look into it, or offer some empathy he insisted that it was a family owned business and hat didn't happen. The odd thing is that it did happen and those items that were stolen were important to me. He did say that he was filing an insurance claim and would be sending us a check, but it is hard for me to put faith in his words. I would like to prevent this from happening to another family and if the only awareness I can bring is by filing this complaint then I have done my part.
Ms. [redacted] - I am terribly sorry to hear that you are less than satisfied with our service. Let me phone Jim and determine what Silverback Moving can do for you. I do know that your shipment was moving under the basic cargo carrier insurance. This insurance covers 60 cents per pound for the...
piece. I will be phoning you this week. Regards, **
