I am rejecting this response because: This should be stated on the General Information Sheet and not hidden in tiny lettering on the application. This is very deceiving. The words Refundable Deposit needs to be removed from this General Information Sheet or the stipulations should also be listed along with the wording "Refundable Deposit". Sorry to hear that this is the way they choose run their business.

Tell us why here... On our general information handout, (which has been attached), it is called “Refundable Deposit” because in most cases, it is refundable.  For example, if their application is denied, or when a person is moving out of their apartment at the end of their lease, or if they...

cancel their hold within 48 hours of placing this particular apartment on hold, the deposit would be refunded.  We are sorry that this prospective resident didn’t read the entire application that was signed by them when they applied and reserved their apartment, because it does explain that when reserving an apartment, if they cancel within 48 hours of putting their deposit down, it would be refundable.  However, cancelling any time after the 48 hours would cause the deposit to be kept as a fee for taking the apartment off of the market from others to rent.  (Application is also attached.)
