I was part of a golf reservation on Friday august at 6:20 am under the name of ***. it started raining hard at 4:30 am. we called 4 times to cancel the reservation and were told that the golf course is open and they wouldn't authorize a refund to the golf now website where the reservation was booked. we were forced to drive to the golf course and pay the toll for the Verrazano bridge. upon arriving at the golf course the starter in the the pro shop agreed that it was raining hard. however he wouldn't issue a refund with golf now but gave us a paper rain check. this paper rain check forces us to come back to a golf course that treated us horribly.
Our policy is cancellations require 24 hours in advance. A foursome was paid for. Of the foursome 2 players played the course and 2 players were issued rain checks. The Superintendent makes the decision to close the course if there is dangerous weather. It subsided quickly and 2 players went out to play.
