I am rejecting this response because:It is a misstatement of facts I should not be surprised at the furtherance of the outright lies being told by the representatives of this company as it definitely consistent with manner in which they deal with people when they are attempting to cover themselves for their wrongdoings There was never a statement made "Dont want to be at this racist *** farm" They are obviously making a poor attempt at painting a picture of an uneducated *** *** female who is incapable of crafting a sentence with proper semantic usage Furthermore, the children were told that they reason they were being told to leave the corn maze was because they were in the maze for too long a period of time THAT IS THE REASON I QUESTIONED THIS INCIDENT TO BEGIN WITH To any citizen, that would raise a red flag that you are being ejected from a "corn maze" because you were there too long It wasn't until I addressed management that the story changed to an accusation of them taking corn In fact, there had not been any contact with them or warnings about taking corn off of the stalk My children picked up corn off of the ground to view as is common in a corn maze because ears of corn are often on the ground, which was addressed in the original complaint.Another thing that changed from management was that I was told that the age of entry without adult supervision was - Although their website clearly says years They failed to address the fact that the female "owner" said, at one point, that she would address the employee because of the behavior he displayed But then, when I asked why should the children have to be painted as something that they are not and be ejected from the maze, she would not further the conversation and would not allow me to ask the employee what ACTUALLY happened That was my primary goal - to obtain facts But, instead I was presented with a not so well put together cover up with numerous inconsistencies.The exchange that occurred between myself and the "unarmed security guard" who ALSO did not have a name tag and during his assault and continued badgering of me, refused to identify himself with a name, was contrary to what Siegel's representative describes Whereas, HE yelled at me and threatened me and refused to back away from me when I told him that I felt unsafe and that he was intimidating me with his size as well as his elevated tone Regarding the insults that they say I hurled at him, THAT is semi-accurate, since I told him that he was no different than the police officers that we see on social media harassing and sometimes even murdering blacks And, those words were said as I was feet away from him (and felt more safe) walking out of the park with my children, NOT during the exchange where I was repeatedly questioning them for why my children were targeted and asking to face the person who accused them since the stories of said employee, management and my children were so different from one another.I stand by the complaint as accurate and valid as presented originally I feel that they should do much more than just refund the monies that were spent for ruining my Columbus Day holiday, insulting and giving such a negative experience to my children by singling them out and then showing them how dishonest people can be when they are willing to stand behind a lie It is a great injustice and insult to injury to have to PAY for such an experience That is not what we came there for, on that day *** ***
Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention and allowing us to respond to this complaint. Siegel’s Cottonwood Farms is a fourth generation business catering to the education and entertainment of guests concerning agriculture and the history of farming The allegations contained
in *** *** “Customer’s Statement of the Problem” are inconsistent with the facts of what had occurred. Our facility hosts thirty-one (31) attractions and activities for our guestsOne of these attractions is a corn maze dedicated to the memory of fallen service members of the United States. On Oct 10, 2016, *** *** *** brought her children to our facilityThey were admitted to the corn maze after visiting other attractionsDuring the time in the corn maze they were observed by staff pulling on stalks and ears of corn and were warned that they were damaging the cropsOn the third occasion they were requested to leave the corn maze*** *** *** was not present with her children in the corn mazeUpon being informed the reason for the ejection she was invited to remain and enjoy the other thirty (30) attractions. Mrs*** *** upon hearing this immediately exclaimed “that her children were being ejected because of their race” and yelling “Don’t want to be at this racist *** farm”. It should be noted that there were numerous families and children who heard this exchange. Based upon her use of profanity around children, security was calledUpon the arrival of the (unarmed)security officer*** *** *** exclaimed, “What? You strapped? Are you going to shoot me?” The security officers with management then requested that she leave the premisesMrs*** *** *** folded her arms yelled “What you going to move me?” The security officer was now joined by a second security officer at which time she began yelling at the officersThe officers explained that if she did not leave that the police would be calledShe stated go ahead and call the policeAt that time the officer in her presence called the *** *** *** Department. *** *** *** then began to walk towards the exit while continually insulting the security officersThe police arrived and Mrs*** *** *** the premisesIt is unfortunate that *** *** *** acted in this manner not only in front of her children but numerous other families and children present as wellWe can offer as corroboration an incident report filed by the independent licensed security company that we contract with that summarizes this incidentIn short, Siegel’s Cottonwood Farms for over years have been providing educational and entertainment relating to agriculture and farmingQuite honestly, we were aghast at MrsLisa Williams- White behavior and stand by our decision to ask her to leave the premises
Judging by Mrs* *** social media page I think you were in fact looking for trouble that day! Your comments in this response prove that you have a chip on your shoulder about how *** people in general are treated and have taught your children to be just as disrespectful to police and to others propertyWe do have cameras on the farm as well!
