Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below [To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.] This response seems no different than what I've heard before The service center seems unwilling to apologize, rectify, or even acknowledge that their salesman made a promise that is turning out to be untrue Regards, [redacted]

We have reviewed Mr***'s contract and customer project folder and no where does it state that his screen material had a lifetime warrantyWe would be happy to forward a copy of the warranty and the original contract to Mr *** and would be happy to assist Mr *** with repairing his torn screen for labor and materials as stated previously

The warranty clearly states that screen mterial torn during installation or during use is not warranted, we provided customer with option of having us re-screen the screen for a charge or to screen it himselfThe re-screening of the screen in question was done April of months after the
windows were installed January of 2010, company felt obligated to accommodate the customer and did so at no charge, this screen is now years or more after the installation was completedWe would be happy to accommodate Mr *** but would be for material and labor

A salesman from Sidex pushed a future appointment on my wife (for Friday at 7pm, no less) while I was not home. She said they were very pushy. Needless to say, we will not keep that appointment, and if they show up, we will ask them to leave. Very unprofessional.

Review: Sidex installed 22 double hung windows and screens to our home. We were told windows would be installed and sealed. Screens have lifetime warranty. 18 of the windows either do not have enough insulation installed or are not caulked. These windows leak extensively around the edges. The windows are quality, but the installation is shoddy. Four screens were damaged during installation. The technicians stated we needed to call Sidex and have new screens ordered for replacement. We were told during service they would be replaced at no charge due to technicians fault. We have tried calling Sidex 5 times in the last year with no return call. Sidex representatives were in the area using door-to-door sales AGAIN this past week. We agreed to have representative come back today, 4/18, to replace the screens, but had to agree to a quote on siding. Called to cancel the siding quote but still requested the screens be replaced per warranty. Sidex representative never showed up.Desired Settlement: I would like screens replaced at no cost based on original warranty, with consideration of attempts to contact Sidex for past year without success. I would also like to have the window insulation and caulking installed properly to prevent energy loss due to shoddy installation.

Business

Response:

Have issued service ticket for the problem, will be there with in 5-7 business days to re-screen screens at no charge at the same time our serve person will inspect the windows for any draft related problems. Our customer service records show no service request reported to us since the installation 11/1/2012, we cannot fix problems we are not aware of and will be happy to do so when we are made aware of them. Customer set appointment for siding quote and our scheduling people explained to them that our sales people do not handle service calls and he explained that he would forward the request to the appropriate individual which he did. The service request was waiting for input when the Revdex.com complaint came in, our office is run by one individual and that person was a little behind on data input, it has been input and sent out for scheduling at this time.

Business

Response:

As stated in original complaint rquest was made for us to repair the screens that were torn at installation and inspect the windows for drafts and air leakage, a service ticket was established imediately upon receipt of complaint, we are sorry if requests fell through the cracks and will attempt to rectify this with swift response to issues with windows, a call was made with request to contact us to schedule a service call, we are sorry if message was left. Resolving the problem screens and windows was the required solution to the problem and the original complaint made no mention of additional resolutions. Contact was made with mr [redacted] on 4/23 to get further information and we will try to get scheduled before end of the week.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. While I am still disappointed in the company's questionable business tactics, no other resolution is requested other than the original though the last response was rejected because of false content in the response.

Review: We purchased a bath tub and enclosure from Sidex. The bath tub is suppose to have a nonslip surface on it. It does not. We contacted them right away and they said it would we one week. Now they won't answer there phone or call back. As far as I am concern this is an unfinished installation and should be refunded to have someone else finish the job.

Thank you

[redacted]Desired Settlement: I want this job finished and never will deal with them again

Business

Response:

We have the slip resistant coating and are trying to find a time we can come out and apply this to the tub, we will be contacting home owner shortly

Regards,

Review: I ordered a triple pane picture window (large) with crank out windows on each end. This was in early spring of 2015. The hardware that was connected to the crank outs appeared to have been moved a couple times as there are holes (the size of screws) by the hardware. I am concerned about bees trying to make my windows there home (I can always put some caulk in the holes). The north most crank out window when installed did not open. Eventually a service guy came out and made an adjustment. It worked for about a month or two. But then it wouldn't open. It eventually opened. The other crank window's "arm" was defective. It popped out and would not properly engage the window. The service guy came out to fix that and I haven't had a problem since. However, the north crank out window has not been able to close since the beginning of summer. I have called every week up until the beginning of August to have it fixed. I was told they would come out in a few days or the following Monday. Nothing. I stopped calling three weeks ago. The screen for the north window is too large and they said they would make a new one. Nothing. Flies and bees are getting into the house and it's annoying.

The purchase and complaint dates are estimates. I called more than three times since the installation of the window.Desired Settlement: I want the window fixed and a proper fitting screen. Or I want a replacement window / reimbursement to get a new window from a different company.

Business

Response:

We have now received the replacement screens, when mr Villanueva last called, we explained that when the screens came in we would be out to correct the problem with the other casement, now that we are in receipt of the screens we can schedule the service all, the service call has been issued out to our service tech and he will be receiving a call this week

Review: Sidex did a re-model on my bathroom. Now, the tub liner has significant "give" when standing towards the back of the tub, the liner sinks in with a little weight, as if it was hollow underneath with no support. I have called Sidex three times. The first time they answered and said someone would call me but were very rude. After that, I called back and explained - on the answering machine that I was treated very poorly and that I spent $4900 on this re-model. I called again, the third time and left a message on the answering machine again and have not received a call back. The first call was November 17, 2015.Desired Settlement: I want/need someone to come out to my house and replace the bath-liner that was initially put in and that it should be done correctly, with some type of support underneath. If this is not possible, I need some type of refund for the poor work that was done and so that I can get it done through another, more reputable company.

Response:

As I explained to Mr [redacted], our service department is back logged, I have documented all of his inquiries in our service log:11/30/15-has not heard anything, wants this resolved, left voice mail11/18/15-floor of the tub has alot of give and feels spongy, does not hear squishy sound but very spongyWe have his service request and we are working diligently to get it scheduled, we have not forgotten about him and should be getting to his service in the next week

Business

Response:

He will receive contact from us shortly

Review: Harassment complaint - The company representative came to our house, and proceeded to conduct a presentation with high pressure to purchase. My husband and I made it very clear that we are only interested in an estimate for a bathroom remodel. In addition, We are receiving numerous phone calls to both my house line and cell phone (about 5-6 calls per day). No voice message is left on either phone.Desired Settlement: Exactly as the "Desired Settlement" line states.

Business

Response:

We have removed the information from our call list and will cease all contact imediately.

A Sidex employee knocked on my door and asked my wife if he could look around and perform an estimate, since I wasn't home at the time. My wife told them they would have to talk to me. They called me and left a voicemail stating that unless I called back, they would go ahead and come to my house to perform an estimate. I called and texted them back to never show up to my property again and to never bother me again. They keep continuing to make calls but leave no voice message.
Sidex apparently has an absolutely no respect for home owners and will decide to perform an estimate on their own terms without the homeowners consent. They apparently haven't gotten the hint to stop calling either.

Review: While selling me windows the salesman saw water damage to one of my walls underneath the window and explained to me that the hole in the drywall was a result of water coming in the window. He insisted that that was an issue that needed to get resolved quickly and correctly. He assured me that with his company they would replace anything rotten and fix the problem. The contract also reads "remove and replace rotten wood where necessary, insulate, cleanup, haul-away and lifetime transferable warranty." Before installation I noticed it was a turning into a bigger problem so I notified Sidex so that is was not an issue when the time came to do the replacement. At this time [redacted] of Sidex, [redacted], flat out told me it was not his problem but mine to fix. Although his employee and his contract both stated that this issue will be resolved his final answer was that it was not Sidex's concern about that issue.

Business

Response:

I agreed to an estimate from a door solicitor. I was called several times before the appointment to change the appointment & then the saleman showed up at the originally scheduled time. He didn't give me an estimate my siding or my upper window. He never even looked at my upper window. Instead he gave me a verbal estimate on my lower windows. The other estimates I have receive from local contractractors are SIGNIFICANTLY lower. Also, It has been a month & I haven't even received the written estimate. All the company's responses to other reviews on this site appear short, defensive & uncaring. I will not be doing business with this company.

Review: I was told at the time of sale that if my windows or screens needed to be repaired, someone would handle the issue quickly and free of charge. I called 3 weeks ago to have 2 screens repaired due to a bent frame. I was told that I would have to pay for the service, and then they finally remembered what I was told and said that they would call me with a time for the repair. Since then I have also had another window come off track and it is unable to close at this time.Desired Settlement: I would like Sidex to come to my home before 8/28 and repair the 2 screens and 1 window that is off track. I do not expect to be charged as this is part of the warranty that I was sold.

Business

Response:

Service was entered and isuued out on 8/3/15, services can take anywhere from 10-15 business Days from the time the incident is reported, our service person has been busy this summer as can be expected and will get to the service as soon as possible, yes we have waved the labor this one time, it should be noted that the damaged screen was done by her dogs and not normal wear and tear, damage such as this is typically not covered by warranty.

Business

Response:

As stated in earlier responses, we will stand by the warranty that the manufacturer provided, her screens in this case have been ordered and as was stated earlier the service labor and charges being assessed by the manufacturer are being waived. As stated earlier Sidex cannot be held liable for animals causing damage to screens.

Review: Replacement of all our windows in November 2014. At least one basement window is leaking air. Company warrants on the contract that they will remedy any substantial defects within a year. I have made five contacts with Sidex to ask they come and fix the problem. So far I get promises that it will be taken of, and to stand by for contact from them. As of this date, no contact from them, no messages on my phone, no letters or visits. I think the slowness of response is unreasonable, and not in the spirit of the contract.Desired Settlement: Either better insulate the window or replace it if it can't be fixed.

Review: In March 2015 inside pane of garden window installed by Sidex cracked. Called to have replaced. In meantime, window shattered. Have been calling since March to have window replaced. Sidex employees keep promising that window will be replaced (not under warranty supposedly), but window pane keeps getting "delayed." Found out from [redacted] (salesman) that window company that originally supplied window went out of business. Supposedly ordered glass, picked up and tried to install (we weren't home), but window was "wrong size, width." Promised to order correct size. Has been another month and still no window. Keeps promising to pick it up and get it installed (now for free), but still not done.Desired Settlement: Want window repaired by Sidex FOR FREE or want to have another company repair the window and have Sidex pay for repair.

Business

Response:

We have picked up the glass, have assured mrs [redacted] via phone call on Friday 8/14/15 that she would be contacted to install new glass

Review: When we purchased windows and screens, we were told that both would have lifetime coverage for any problems. A few years ago, a screen was repaired at no charge, as I would have expected based on what we had been told. However, when I recently called for a screen repair, I was told repeatedly that screens aren't covered, and not given any clear explanation why they were suddenly changing their stance.Desired Settlement: I would like the screen to be repaired/replaced at no charge, since that is what we had been told would happen when we purchased them.

Business

Response:

Response:

Shower still leaks after they fixed it!
We went with Sidex to replace an existing 2nd level shower in our home that was leaking from the between the tiles (not a plumbing issue). The salesman was very nice, but very dishonest. We were promised welded seems (they were caulked together), giant holders for bottles (none fit and all of our bottles sit on the floor), mildew/mold resistant (I have to clean it weekly and scrub to stop mold from growing on the caulk) and that the leaking would be fixed. After 2 botched install dates (they came with the wrong base 2 times), the shower was finally installed. I should have know this would be a precursor to the quality product we received.
We accepted having empty shelves (due to bottles not fitting and being on the floor instead) however after about 6 months, the ceiling right below the shower starting discoloring. After some investigating, we determined the shower base had been put in crooked therefore water pooled in a corner and ate away the "welded" caulk seam. Our plaster was damaged. We have since called Sidex to replace the plaster ceiling and shower. As this is a repair, they only will come on Saturday. Also, they were scheduled to show up last Saturday, and never did (we didn't receive a call canceling either).
I would never recommend Sidex for anything. I have called to inquire about the status of the install, and haven't heard back yet, the materials are poor quality, the installation was poor, and we still have a leaky shower. Use a different company.

Review: the screens dont fit and they leave bugs and leafs in, the windows leak energy wise, the windows were not install against old stops so they had to caulk between window frame and stops inside, the sills are more or less flush so when it rains the water sits on sills , they installed the windows on top of old sills without removing them,I tryed to call them but they never call back when I leave a message . beem three months now since the contractor for the company came and said replacement of sills and full screens but havent heard back from them , this is bbeen going on now for over a year.Desired Settlement: energy efficent windows that dont leak and the sills that drain rain water out and full screens so bugs and leaves dont get in

Business

Response:

YIKES!......please forgive us. New screens were ordered earlier this year. Neither the manufacturer nor Sidex could locate them. New ones were again ordered. They might/could/should come the end of this week. Once they are in hand, we will set up an appointment to address ALL/any issues

Consumer

Response:

We had a salesman knock our door and let because we wanted to update our bath/shower we listened to them, got a quote and decided to go ahead with it because they said if we put it theough at that moment we would he a significant discount. Dumb on our part. The tub is very sloppily installed and looks unprofessional. The caulk is peeling and almost immediately starts turning pink which wont come out. We were told water wouldn't be able to get underneath and any mold or mildew already existing would die. Theres black showing up all around and its hard to keep clean. Theres also air underneath the tub and sides. Our complaints have not been addressed. I regret using Sidex
