Complaint: I am rejecting this response because:The customer stated over the phone that she did not receive a check on Saturday 04/01/201, as stated in the business response Regards, [redacted] A [redacted]
This letter is in response to B [redacted] ***’s complaint dated June 3, MsK [redacted] was a longtime customer and consignor at Peggy’s Used Treasures and it is unfortunate that this situation has occurred.Peggy’s had done numerous repairs for MsK [redacted] and she came in the store oftenWe generally do not have repeat customers sign for their repairs nor do we call them when we know they are returning soonThe envelope for MsK***’s repair was in the files which were closed and stored when this inquiry beganMsK [redacted] is apparently relying on memory alone regarding this ring and states that she did not drive or travel due to her cancer and never came in the storeIn fact, I have copies of her many receipts following her diagnosisShe was starting a jewelry making business and purchased many articles to supply her business.MsK [redacted] recently stated that this must have happened in February We have only one sales receipt from her during that calendar year and it was for a small purchase.MsK [redacted] initiated her inquiry in and the obvious question is the length of time that elapsedWe do fully understand the toll that illness takes but to wait nearly years is considerableAlso during this time MsK [redacted] and her husband opened up their home as a bed and breakfast which would allow guests, strangers and presumably a cleaning staff inside their houseIt is also surprising that during these years she did not check her safety deposit box to notice the missing ring as she seems conscientious in most matters. We do not have MsK***’s ring nor does our bench jewelerWe also do not have our customers pay in advance, especially when we know them wellMsK [redacted] states that she does not have a signed repair envelope for the repair in question and she is correct — we keep all the repair envelopes for our records and do not give them to the customersShe should not have any of the repair envelopes since they are our property yet MsK [redacted] states that she has them with her signatureThere does seem to be some confusion regarding a job envelope and a store receipt. This is an unconscionable amount of time to wait before blaming Peggy’s for the missing ringIn addition, her written threat to use social media is fairly disturbingWe have cooperated to the best of our ability but to inquire after nearly five years is surprising

Complaint:
I am rejecting this response because:This etter is in response to the letter submitted to the Revdex.com by Peggy’s Used Treasures on 7/6/As expected there seems to be many “disconnects” between the recollections of the Store owners & myselfThe biggest one is that most of Peggy’s argument revolves around my ring being brought in to be polished in I do not believe that was the year the ring was brought in for serviceSince my cancer treatments took place between 2011-as I stated in my complaint, yes I did make a number of purchases from Peggy’s in before I was diagnosed. MrsGonzales states in her response that the envelope for my ring was found in the “closed files”That is not what was first said when I first came in with the receiptIt was MrGonzales who “found” the empty envelope and it was not stated where it was foundWhen I questioned the year, MrsGonzales said she would check both and files to try to find the ringIn my complaint I state that when I was shown the empty envelope I pointed to the signature line on the envelope and said “look I didn’t sign here either”I never said I had copies of the repair envelopesPerhaps you should go back & reread my complaintWhat I did say & I am prepared to make copies of, is that I have from Peggy’s every type of receipt that I signed over the years for repairs, for estimates, for appraisals, etcI never dropped off or picked up any jewelry before this happened that I did not sign for! Attached to this response I will include just one of the many receipts I have that are signedI am prepared to have the whole mess of them available if this goes any further. This brings me to another rather strange disconnectIf Peggy’s doesn’t generally call its repeat customers as they claim, why write “ will call” on the claim check?Obviously the confusion in this matter is not mineIn addition there is something stated in the owners response that is outrageously out of line & total fictionIt has no place in this matterThis is the Store owners speculation about our so called “Bed & Breakfast” guests being the real source of my ring’s disappearance through theft! First of all, we do not have a Bed & BreakfastWe have a vacation rentalThis is a private apartment with its own entrance It is completely separate from our residenceOur house is set up as a duplexSince I do have a jewelry business I am diligent about any jewelry in the house, all of which is kept in a safeAs far as the safety deposit box goes, once again, I thought I made that point quite clear in my complaintThis is not jewelry I consider mineIt is my family’s estate jewelryMost of which I will pass on to others in the family I assume its in a safe place and I don’t go to “visit” it. I realize that casting stones at me may make the owners feel less culpableThe bottom line is I have proof that I gave them my ring to repair & they have NO proof that it was ever returned to meIt does not matter what exact year it wasThe ring was placed in their careThey said they would call me when it was repaired and they did not ever callThe trail ends with them and they legally bare the responsiblity for the ring, whether or not they choose to do the right thingAs far as MrsGonzales statement about my “threatening to use social media goes”, that is somewhat taken out of contextHowever it is indeed fortunate that we live in a society where consumers have the right to file complaints when they experience a businesses negligence and refusal to make amensWe live in an age where just about everything is rated by consumers from the general public to special interest groups through websites on the internetI do not have to do anything
