Review: Bought a wood shutter several years ago. It turned out to made of poor quality wood; it rotted away and became usable, covered with mold. Contacted Shuttercraft/S. Frey on 9/20/13 by email. Then Colleen Murdock ###-###-####), the owner took over. She denied the product failed because of wood quality but implied my (lack of) preparation was the problem. I have purchased several sets of shutters from them over the past 6 years. I did everything necessary to make shutter last a lifetime but it failed in 5 years. After some 10 emails between us, I argued I did nothing wrong. Eventually she agreed to replace it but as of this date has not fulfilled her promise. Then she didn't want to guarantee the shutter but just refund the purchase price. I refused stating shutter cannot be replaced with the few dollars she offered when her own replacement cost is almost twice what it was when purchased. She made a promise to replace. Thank you for informing me of the submissionID [redacted] The shutter was originally ordered nine years ago on Sept 8, 2004. Our customer did send pictures of this one shutter showing decay. We could not confirm what happened to the shutter and ultimately agreed to remake the shutter, and ship to his address. It is scheduled to ship to us by Dec 11,2013 from our mill, we will add the tilt rods in our customizing shop and ship asap as promised.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 9823829, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.
They have made good on their offer. I have received a replacement shutter. I am satisfied.
