RE:[redacted] Dear [redacted],In response to your letter dated 3/14/2017. While we are not [redacted] we did have a customer [redacted] purchase a home from us, Showcase Homes. The following will address the complaints stated.• Home is not level, frame is bento This issue has been addressed...
several times by both Showcase Homes and Commodore Homes (the manufacturer of the home). Once the home was placed on the site and leveled, it was noted there was some camber in the frame, our site manager instructed the homeowner that this can typically take some time to settle and as they move into the home and add additional weight to the home it will generally work itself out. We left a few of the shims loose on the piers in the affected area in order for the home to settle. The Homeowner was still not satisfied and we had the factory come out to inspect the home and the factory representative found that the shims were tight in the affected area and were told by the homeowner that he (the homeowner) had tightened the shims. The homeowner was told again by Commodore Homes to remove the shims from the piers in the high areas to allow the frame to settle. This issue is to be reviewed in the spring to see if it resolved itself.• Sewage not being connected correctlyo The sewage was connected according to standard plumbing practices. There are no issues noted with the connections. There is nothing left for us to complete that prevents the homeowner from moving into the home.Showcase Homes has completed all requirements in setting of this home; however there may be items the homeowner has opted to complete themselves, outside of our contract, in order for occupancy to be granted. The Homeowner has decided to complete or hire their own outside contractor to install the electric service, gas and water service to the home as well as construction of the decks for the home. We are unaware of the status of these items.• Hole in sidingo The siding has been replaced. While the homeowner bought a lot model home that was sold as is, we did agree to repair the hole in the siding for the homeowner; however when the home was set in December the outside temperature was too cold to make the repair. When we did get some warm weather Showcase Homes tried to schedule a date to repair the siding, the homeowner stated the ground was too muddy and did not grant access to the home. On February 20, 2017 the homeowner called and allowed Showcase Homes access to the property to repair the siding and the siding was repaired the same day.• Smoking and cigarette buttso This letter is the first the customer has noted this issue. Showcase Homes is currently instituting policies to prevent this issue from happening in the future with all our subcontractors. All service issues that have been reported to Showcase Homes have been resolved or are under review with the factory. Showcase Homes is not aware of any open service issues. If you have further questions you may contact us.Sincerely,Linda H[redacted] Service Manager Showcase Homes
