My name is [redacted], Circulation Director for both the Coeur d'Alene Press and Shoshone News-Press. Here is our response to [redacted] (Lawn Express).

Mr. [redacted] signed up with our KIOSK sales person to The Shoshone News-Press in front of Yoke's (Kellogg) on Feb. 1, 2013. He agreed to a discounted rate of $11.70 per month that is automatically withdrawn from his VISA card. This payment will reoccur every month unless the customer tells us to stop or there is something wrong with the card. On 2/4 the first payment was taken out. In March the card rejected and a letter was sent. Mr. [redacted] brought in a check on 3/13 to take care of his bill. By not having the automatic payment taken out, it threw his subscription to a billed status.

Our office in Osburn is very small and there is only a part time person for Circulation and she was very new at the time. Yes she probably could have explained things better and even called our office for assistance and this entire issue could have been resolved.

On June 26, when I received Mr. [redacted] letter, immediately had our Retention Manager call him. She wound up leaving him a message to call if he had any questions and that his balance was adjusted to zero. We have never sent anyone to collections for a past due newspaper bill.
