Shoreham Hotel

Review: I stayed at the Shoreham in New York from 03/**/2014-03/**/2014. I was very disappointed. I booked the hotel as a four star hotel. I'm sorry to say this, but I don't think the hotel should be rated more than two stars. There were so many things that were not right and not up to standards and the hotel was definitely not four stars. First, I wasn't greeted properly nor was I told what the hotel offers as far as amenities. Usually, when I check in at a hotel, I'm asked if it's my first time there and if it is, I'm oriented to the hotel. I didn't get that here, so I had no idea about the restaurant or bar or other features the hotel might have had. Then, when I arrived in the room, the carpeting and walls were dirty, the restroom walls were dirty, the iron was missing from the room, the massage chair didn't work, the in-room phone didn't work even though it was fully charged, so I had to use the phone on speaker. The hotel room had a horrible view of another building right across. When I informed the front desk staff about these issues, I was offered to switch rooms. When I checked out the other room, it was dirty too and I just felt really disgusted. The hotel was not worth the $544 that I paid for two nights.

I would like a refund. It's not fair to charge customers so much money for something that's not worth the price. I don't mind paying a little more for getting good quality and good service, but this was definitely not worth the price.

Additionally, the hotel management is unresponsive and ver unprofessional. I've tried contacting [redacted] and [redacted] several times and all I got was one email and that's it. They haven't responded to my follow up emails or phone calls. It's unbelievable that they operate this way.Desired Settlement: Although they have provided a partial refund, I don't think that's fair for what I've had to go through. I would like a FULL refund.
