Review: I am new to the Washington, DC area and went in for a new eye appointment. I had the exam and was told my prescription had not changed. I ordered contacts while I was there, which were not initially ordered. After 3 weeks I called back to discover that they were not ordered and a prescription for glasses was not sent either. This was settled and the contacts were ordered. Upon receiving the contacts and eyeglass prescription, I discovered that the prescription was different than what was discussed in the office. Moreover, upon calling the office, I discovered that the prescription they have in their chart is different from what was given to me on the prescription. The woman I spoke to on the phone claimed that she simply could not read the doctor's handwriting (this is completely unacceptable as it is). Upon claiming that I had inconsistencies in my story, the woman claimed that she could not order new contacts until the doctor returned from out of the country. I am in desperate need of new contacts and I am very worried for my own eye health (my prescription has not changed as they stated after the exam) and I am worried due to the inconsistencies within their own records. I would like this to be a testament to those discrepancies and noted in public records. This could potentially be damaging to my eye health and dangerous for driving where my vision may not be correct with these new prescriptions.Desired Settlement: I would like new contacts that are of the correct prescription. I would also like to be reimbursed for a new eye exam (not by the same provider) so that I can be sure that I have the correct prescription for new eyeglasses.
