the worst!
was charged more than the price posted on the huge sign in front of the location - when I asked the clerk why he said "that's an old price, I don't know why they don't change it"
They told my my trans filter was not accessible that is a flat out lie it is front and center but you do have to take the pan off!
they damaged my trans pan - had to get it replaced - ended up being a $trans fluid exchange
I recently brought my vehicle in to shiftrite transmission, I had learned that they had been in the area for over years and was impressed that they had a "free inspection", they reported back that they would need to do a class overhaulThe "free inspection" had gone up to $to drop and thoroughly inspect what parts would have to be R&R'dI was expressing my concerns and the manager, Randy, became defensive, assuring me that I could not get the work done anywhere for less money or better qualityHe then faxed me over a labor and parts breakdown for $2,
I was never offered a "loaner car" to be able to continue working while my truck was being repairedI asked for terms to help with making paymentsRandy stated: "Well, if you win the lottery over the weekend, come in on Monday and it will be ready for you"
I was able to get the money together by the following Saturday and went to pick my vehicle upOn arriving, Randy told me that the O/D off light would come on after a few miles of driving, but it was not considered a problem to be concerned about"It is electrical, not mechanical." (The warranty is for months)
I drove the car perhaps miles around town with the Overdrive light coming on and flashing each time I started the vehicleOn friday, the "Check Engine" light came on in addition to the O/D off light, the transmission was making audible noises and shifting hard into 2nd and 3rd gears
On Saturday, I took my vehicle to a general Mechanic to check the codesHe printed out the relevant codes which both pointed to the transmission mechanical issuesI then Called Randy, and he asked for the name of the shop and the mechanic I had talked toWhen I went to pick up my truck, I was told by the manager "Jay" that the Manager of the transmission shop had called and then attempted to get the mechanic to change what he was reporting to meThe mechanic also suggested a highly reputable transmission specialist to get a second opinion from
I will not recommend or suggest anyone get any work done by Shiftrite TransmissionThe Manager first lied to me personally and then attempted to get another shop to lie to me as well
