Shifters

Failed to fix transmission, after picked up and paid for. They've had it for 3 weeks and get litany of reasons why they don't have it done.
Daughter just graduated from *** in Lakeland. She developed transmission issues and took the 2008 Mini Cooper to Shifters on April 29. They said it would be fixed within a week. No communication on progress, she would call and basically get a lot of double-talk. Finally was told car was done and she picked it up and paid for it. Within a mile the same problems developed. Fortunately she wasn't on her way back home, otherwise she would have been stranded on the highway. Took the car back and left it as it was after hours when they supposedly fixed it and was closed when she returned. They claimed they didn't have the car reprogrammed by BMW. When they finally did that, BMW told them there was an issue with a part they put on. There was a supposed holdup while they ordered and waited to received part. Now nearly 3 weeks since they started working on the car, they claimed the part wasn't the problem and BMW used the wrong program. However mechanic was waiting for the owner to get around to contacting BMW because he was busy working at his dad's place. I told them I wanted resolution and received no response. My daughter has since moved back home because she has to pack and get ready to start a new job within a week, and we'll have to go back down to Lakeland to pick up the car, if they can ever actually accomplish that. Saw the previous complaints against Shifters (which, apparently is open, even though Revdex.com lists them as closed). Much of those complaints are similar to our experience. Unfortunately my daughter didn't check Revdex.com first, otherwise she would have found a more reputable option in Lakeland.
