I have just become aware of the complaint of unsatisfactory workmanship from Ms. [redacted]. We took her dress in on May 28th/2015, and we received a payment in full from the customer of $68+GST (Original invoice). When she came to pick up...
the dress, she was very unhappy with the results, although the measurements were accurate and altered to the initial pinned size.
When she tried on the dress post-alternation, her main concern was that the dress was too short according to how she thought the final results would appear. [redacted] The dress was nearly touching the ground, but she insisted that it was too short, [redacted]
We realize the distress of the customer, however, the measurements have been pinned and agreed upon the day of receiving. We cannot be responsible for the total retail price of the original dress + the inflated $80 alternation cost that was mentioned in her statement. The dress was cut directly according to the initial measurement when both parties were present. We believe this is the most crucial step, because customers get a chance to view the pinned length.
Additionally, there were no plastic straps on this dress from the point in which we received it. When we started working on this dress, it had no straps. When she became very heated in the store, we felt very nervous and anxious. [redacted] Things were going nowhere so we offered her 10 dollars to buy the plastic straps she wanted. The only reason we offered this resolution was because she insisted the straps were there, and that she needed the straps. [redacted]
We were not acting in an inappropriate or rude manner in any of the interactions with Ms. [redacted]. Again, we realize her distress, but we took the mutually agreed upon measurement, hemmed the dress accordingly, and did the work that was asked of us. It is unfortunate that inaccurate interpretations may have been an issue, but still, we try our best to be on the same page as our customers. Also, we want to say again that we absolutely did not take any plastic straps off her dress [redacted]
