My server's service at this establishment was substandard and unprofessional and the behavior she exhibited upon submitting the acknowledged tip was illegal. Because I was unhappy with the server, I allowed $1 to be taken out of my account for the tip. I signed both copies of the check and when I was still in the restaurant, the server took out more money ($4) than what I had allowed. Since I was still in the restaurant, if there was any confusion or discrepancy, the server could have approached me for confirmation. Proof that I was still in the restaurant at the time this took place, is that the time on my check was 7:40 PM and the time the extra funds were taken out of my account was 7:42 PM. While I did speak to the owner who wrote me a check and refunded the $3, my server knowingly committed fraud and I feel it is important to have it reported and documented.
