I will be open for business starting June 5.I have full intentions of addressing all concerns within week of opening for the season.Sincerely William W*** Sherlock Asphalting & Sealing
Customer contacted me about issue this year not last year The area causing this problem resides in that the flower beds around the front of the house hold water with no drainage. This house is on top of a hill drive way is sloped to the street I can not be held responsible for poor drainage
around deep flower beds this was a concern that was pointed out upond completion of job
I have emailed this customer in regards to complaintWill work out a resolution toward end of March
I am rejecting this response because: Our driveway is not what was promised by WilliamWe were told that the stone would adhere to our old black top driveway with the tar like county the county roads There is many large areas of our driveway with no tar or stone We have to spray our driveway with weed killer every few weeks We were told that would not happen with their tar and chi at least not for a very long time Most of our driveway is not the color of stone he showed us The stone that was placed on our driveway was dirtyThe dirt is the only thing that stuck to the tar leaving the stone to end up in our grassWilliam told us their tar and chip would last ten years on most drivewaysIt has not been a year and our driveway looks like crap
I will gladly take care of any and all complaints regarding driveway. As this is a seasonal based business I will not be available until after Easter.I regret that customer has had issues with the driveway and look forward to meeting with them between end of April and first week in may too assess all
problems
They never had a fully solid connection between the drive and the steps at front of house. The flower beds at that side and point of the house need to be back filled and or proper drainage installed. We have had extremely large amounts of rainfall this year.Sherlock Asphalting and sealing is not responsible for inadequate drainage we were hired to install asphalt in front of house.I customer were to backfill flower beds around front of house this would probably solve their problem
I disagree with Sherlock asphalt..driveway falling apart because bad work..should be 1in thick..it's maybe 1/4in thick..2 yr warranty expired may of this yr..started coplaining fall of 2014..and again in April of this yr..every other week since then..they say we will fix next week and then never showed..
Warranty period for said work had been expired for almost 2 years before complaint.Customer was informed that as a good faith gesture I would repair area when we were in the area and had time to do so in our schedule. This year we have ran out of time this offer still stands however it will have...
to wait till spring 2016.I do not claim responsible however as damage to driveway appears to be caused by heavy vehicle on driveway.

Sherlock has never returned any of our calls. We only get the voicemail so we cannot discuss this situation with them. We have lived for here 36 years and have never had our front step flood until Sherlock laid the blacktop.
These are the "patches" that have now fallen apart. It was patched in September 2017. They lasted four months and now we have over 5 dozen new pot holes. It is a total mess. We paid over $23,000. For this mess....Attachments:
Tar and chip was applied to the customers driveway. It is a gravel applied to hot tar as the driveway weather's the stone that did not adhere will remain loose and will wash away.As with tar and chip roads the gravel will wear to expose tar this is something can not be helped. As far as using the...
wrong gravel there is no specified gravel to be used except the size should be #8 or smaller I have used this same stone on multiple driveways.I am very sorry if there was any confusion as to what tar and chip is though the customer did choose the stone and was fully aware that it was a #8 river gravel
