A good friend raved about this "general contractor" (GC) so I hired him to refurbish our old house to rent when we moved out in January He did good work (for the most part)We now live in the desert with coyotes around so wanted to have a block fence to protect our small dogs We were unsuccessful negotiating the wall in the price of the house so had to pay for it ourselves which used everything we had set aside for furniture and landscapingBut, the dogs were more important and they were the lowest bidderWe had an agreement, much of it was verbal with several different written estimatesThis was in mid-February It is now November and the work has not been completed as agreed, even though I have paid for everything Part of the price negotiation was a discount if my husband would "manage" the job, because we were so far from the GC’s locationIt took months for all supplies to be deliveredWe kept a log of the days and times his guys were at our site
