they kept billing us after we were told we were paid in full. we still bills from them.we were told we had to pay for surgery up front. it was more than we had so we had to borrow money at a very high interest rate. we asked no less than a dozen times how much we had to pay so we wouldn't have to borrow any more than necessary. we pre paid based on what they said we owed .we were assured that there would be no more bills. they said they run the insurance and told us how much to pay. we paid them that amount. a few weeks after they started sending us small bills,(75.00 or less). every time we would pay them they would send another and another. then they sent one for968.50. we don't have it but they insist we owe it and threatened to turn us over to collections if we don't pay it. we already paid them what THEY told us to pay up front. we are out of donation money for shea clinic.Desired Settlementadmit they either didn't run the insurance properly or obviously made a mistake when they specified no less than a dozen times how much we had to come up with. we done our part. they need to eliminate this bill. it is bogus.Business Response Shea Ear Clinic does not mediate past due account balances through the Revdex.com nor shall we respond to nameless and faceless hearsay such as "they said" as 100% of our agreements are not "said" but are in writing and signed by the guarantor of the account. Any inconsistencies referenced should be addressed to [redacted]'s insurance carrier who provided incorrect information with regards to the patient's deductible amount. This was not only explained to [redacted] by the Shea Ear Clinic business office manager but [redacted] was sent a letter from his insurance company notifying him that they (the insurance company) had erred and that [redacted]'s unpaid deductible was several hundred dollars greater than previously reported to Shea Ear Clinic thus increasing the guarantor's liability to Shea Ear Clinic by that amount. This account is in the hands of a collection agency and not with Shea Ear Clinic. The collection agency will report this to the credit bureaus and the collection agency's legal department will generally look to place a lien on assets or garnish wages in cases where the delinquent balance exceeds $500.00. Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)It was shea clinic that told us that they had contacted our insurance prior to the surgery and the amount we were to pay is the amount shea clinic told us to pay. that is the only way we had to know how much to pay. the amount we were told by shea clinic. we were never asked to contact our insurance prior to surgery. we were told only to pay a certain dollar amount which we did prior to surgery. this should never have been turned over to a collection agency.

Received a bill after being told if I paid a specific amount before surgery that I would not get another bill!Prior to surgery at the Shea Clinic on March 28, 2013, I was told by [redacted] that $1025.24 was required to be paid before I could be put onto the surgery schedule. She had submitted charges to my insurance company and came up with this total. When I questioned her regarding this amount & any further charges, she informed me at that time that I WOULD NOT BE BILLED FOR ANY FURTHER CHARGES! I have received a bill for $284.41 above that $1025.24 which I was told was all that I would be billed for! I was told by other patients that she told them the exact same thing & they received bills as well. **. [redacted] saw all information that my insurance company submitted to her & I cannot get anyone from the Shea Clinic to tell me why I was told that this is all that I would be charged. I cannot get anyone else to contact me regarding this matter either!Desired SettlementI want this $284.41 written off & dismissed from my responsibility as **. [redacted] told me the $1025.24 was all that remained to finish my deductible & out-of-pocket expense & that I would not receive another bill from Shea Clinic for this surgery! She needs to learn how to handle insurance claims properly!Business Response [redacted] received the attached email and gladly paid $284.41 once she realized she signed a contract obligating herself to this payment and in exchange for writing off the additional fees owed for her account having been turned over to the collection agency. This case shows an opening date of August 24th and [redacted] paid this account in full on August 27th. This complaint was received by Shea Ear Clinic on September 6th... almost 10 days after the dispute was resolved to the satisfaction of both Shea Ear Clinic and [redacted].
