Sharpshooter Video Productions Reviews (1)

Review: I purchased a professionally done DVD, and when I received it, the quality was very poor, I could not see the faces of the performers, its like a bad, home made dvd.

I emailed the company and told them the issue, asked for the refund, their response was I was the only dissatisfied customer, they are not responsible for lighting and they will not refund the money.Desired Settlement: I would like to get a refund, for this non-professional poor quality DVD.

Business

Response:

The video in question was also purchased by 157 other customers. This customers complaint was that they couldn't see their child. We make it known we are not responsible for the lighting of the stage and the position of the children. Unfortunately her child was one of the children in the back in the poorly lit areas. If the video was of such poor quality and so awful we would have received more than one complaint among the 157 DVD's sold. For the comfort of the audience we are positioned at the rear of the auditorium, this is not the best area to shoot a video but it's the best position offered. When a customer says they can shoot it better of course they can. They are closer to the stage and they usually shoot "only" their child. If we focused on her child "only" not taking into consideration we have to shoot "everyone" on stage all the time yes it would look better. it's unfortunate that people use the Revdex.com for personal gripes and complaints when they don't get their way. These DVD's are custom made and we do not offer a refund. Also these DVD's were delivered 2-3 months earlier yet it's only now we get a complaint. Like I said. 157 copies were sold to the studio and only "one" person has complained.

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:

I received the Dvd in September when classes resumed, there was no email to come and pick up DVD's earlier.

I contacted the studio and the owner said a lot of people complained and that she will not be using this company ever again. I am the only customer who wrote to Revdex.com, because I am outraged wth the lies of this business. My child was not in the back, it only had 8 kids and they were at the front on the stage, all lines up. You cannot see any of their faces, unrecognizable. NOT JUST MY CHILD, all the kids. It is their responsibility to make sure the video comes out in a professional condition and not like an amateur video. I was forbidden to make a video or picture, so it does not interrupt with the DVD taking video process. I want my money back and I will return their poor quality DVD.

Response:

Parents WERE allowed to tape their children during dress rehearsal. We still stand by our decision. We have been doing these videos and have been in business since 1987. I can count on one hand the number of complaints. if the videos were so horrible, why hasn't the dance school contacted us? Why hasn't other parents out the other 156 DVD's we sent out complained? If we are to be judged by one disgruntled customer out of the 2,800 other DVD's from the other 45 dance studios we do than so be. When we are called amateurish of having the quality of a bad home movie...well you can imagine how we would respond. This customer is certainly under no obligation to purchase any other DVD's from us in the 2014 season. In fact we insist they don't. Also, we only charged $25.00 per DVD. The studio (without our consent) tacked on the additional $15.00. According to our policy we do not return DVD's as they are custom made and once in the possession of a consumer they can be copied, complained about and demand a refund. This is why we have this policy. Also it is not our fault that the studio held on to them nor notified the customers the DVD's were in. We warrantee the DVD's for 30 days. We think that's fair. If you bought an item from Wal-Mart or some other store, took it home, and waited close to 2 months to return it would they offer a full refund? The studio has made no mention of discontinuing our services but based on the opinion of ONE complaint, we will eliminate them as our client and will gladly refer the complaints name to the studio as to why we will no longer service them or hold on to the masters. Why would we drop and eliminate a client based on one complaint? Well this one complaint seems to be speaking for the entire 156 DVD's sold as all being horrible and un watchable. So as of now we are officially dropping them as clients, the masters will be erased and we will have nothing more to do with them or any of the 156 other customers (who according to this complaint) don't like our work. If this person wants a refund we will give her one. It will be for the $25.00 which is what we got paid per DVD. By sending back the DVD and accepting the $25.00 the complaining party must agree that they will be the reason we eliminate this client, no longer are obligated to hold the masters and all of the customers in this studio (which obviously agree with her) will no longer be able to purchase and DVD's from us.
