My wife was admitted to Sharp Memorial Hospital on 13 July 2015 due to a urinary tract infection. My wife has limited responsiveness both mentally and physically due to a stroke. On 19 July 2015 at 10:20 pm a blood laboratory technician came to draw blood from my wife's arm. My wife's arms and feet are swollen, so the technician could not find a vein and gave up. The technician called a second technician because in ten minutes she would be on overtime. Told the technician to get out and not to attempt another blood withdrawal. At approximately 1100 pm a second technician showed up to withdraw blood. I refuse told the technician to leave. At 1230 am 20 July a third technician came to draw blood. I refused until they agreed to do a finger [redacted]. The technician did so and left. I had to go home at 4:30 20 July to care for my pets. I returned to Sharp Memorial Hospital at 7 am to find the technician had returned while I was gone and drew blood from my wife's right inspit of being told not to. Do not leave your family members alone at Sharp because they will take advantage of your stroke impaired wife and ask her to make medical treatment decisions which she currently does have the mental capacity.
