When my insurance company was billed, [redacted], the office billed it as a diagnosis of an illness or injury and not as preventative maintenance. My insurance will pay 100% of the cost for my annual prostate examination as long as it is billed as preventative and not diagnostic. I called the doctor's office after receiving a bill showing that I owe $63.68. The receptionist and the billing clerk stated that they are unable to bill as preventative in their billing codes. I do not believe this is a fair business practice, if they refuse to bill preventative visits as they are, preventative health maintenance they should state so before you are seen by the doctor.Desired SettlementI want the visit billed as a preventative visit so that my insurance company will pay %100 of the visit and that I can have my $63.68 that I have already gone and paid the clinic refunded to me.Business Response I have received the letter for this compliant.
