Response to Revdex.com Complaint # [redacted] The complainant boarded his min-pin with us for 15 years beginning in 2003. He left her in our care multiple times each year since then, sometimes for a week, sometimes several weeks and sometimes a month or longer. Over the past 15 years we never had a complaint from him over the care his dog received from us. The last several times he left Sadie with us, we discussed her advanced age, since she was 17 years old, and although she was in good health for her age, we were aware that an elderly dog nearing the end of her expected life span, may unexpectedly pass away suddenly.Sadie was left with us on 2/16/18 and throughout the month of her boarding here, she was provided excellent care throughout her stay. She was eating, going to the bathroom and acted as she always had. On the morning of 3/21/18 Sadie refused to eat when fed. It is not unusual for a dog to refuse a meal one day. She showed no signs of pain, distress, or discomfort to lead us to believe that she needed immediate veterinary care. Upon opening the kennel on the morning of 3/22/18 Sadie was found to be laying still in her bed, refused to stand, showed signs of a massive stroke event. The owner was immediately called but the call went to his voice mail. Before he returned our call, approximately 90 minutes later, Sadie had passed away. We did nothing to cause her death or contribute to her death. She was a 17-year-old dog that was at the end of her natural life span. It is unfortunate that she died while the owner was away. We are grieving her loss as well because we had a wonderful relationship with her over the years. [redacted] WeeksShangri-la Kennels852 Washington St NAuburn, Maine 04210
