Shamrock Motel Resort & Suites

Review: A friend of mine invited my husband and I to the Dells for the holiday weekend. She said she was staying at the Shamrock and they were giving free wristbands to [redacted] all weekend if you booked with them. I decided to Google the Motel, and view the pictures. It appeared decent, so I booked with Shamrock. We took a three and a half hour drive and finally made it. As we pulled up I thought OH NO the pictures looked nothing like what I had viewed on their website and Google. It was a cheap run-down Motel. AGAIN, IT LOOKED NOTHING LIKE THE PICTURES ON THEIR WEBSITE! I figured I would give it a fair shot, as looks at first glance sometimes are deceiving. I decided to be a team player and check in our reservation. The girl at the desk gave us the wristbands for the [redacted] stating they were good all weekend and a set of keys to our room. Our room was ground level, and as I opened the door and walked in I literally wanted to walk right back out. IT WAS FILTHY!! The carpets were so disgusting I immediately put my luggage on a table. The beds were even worse. The box spring of the bed was showing and had yellow stains and the covers and pillows looked soiled to the point were the pillowcases were white at some point but just a dingy grayish color. The bed looked so filthy I was a mixture of fear and disgust to sit on the bed. There was no way in hell I could honestly lay in that bed for two days in fear of bed bugs biting me. My husband was in the Marine Corps. For 8 yrs. and adapts quickly to any setting and has slept in a dirt holes for days at a time but after his initial reaction to shock, or disgust, I couldnt tell, he stated he was looking for a chalk outline of a dead body, or a syringe, I knew our time was up at this place. He quickly went to the bathroom and noticed our window was perched open and looked out the window. He immediately slammed it shut and called me in to tell me there was 3 men outside our window working construction. Since we were groundDesired Settlement: I want a full refund as I did not stay at the hotel. This place is not sanitary and looking more into the hotel and reading other complaints I have seen that other people have reported bed bugs. I stood there a total of 3.5 hours before I saw enough and was not going to put my health at risk so I returned the keys to the front desk.

Thank you for your letter regarding the complaint you received regarding our motel. The pictures on our website are what our property looks like, as they were taken Spring 2012 and June 2013. Regarding the room, our rooms are clean and well kept. Our sheets are cleaned by a professional laundry service, that we are very pleased with. The guest was not satisfied with the condition of our linens, so we offered to change them. She did not want that. There was not another room I could offer her as we were full. I assure you that there was no construction being conducted on our property at all, especially on Labor Day Weekend. The guest was refunded her full amount of money.
