Dear Revdex.com & Clients:
We understand the Revdex.com does not process tenant-landlord matters; nonetheless, our closing experience with Shadow Mountain Property Management in [redacted] was so poor, it is important to us to share our experience.
We were tenants under a Shadow Mountain (SM) property management contract for a home in the [redacted], which is in [redacted] for two years. Our attempts to peacefully resolve the entire return of our deposit from SM has failed.
Among the deposits SM refuses to return are deposits for a gate opener ($45.00) and exercise room key fob ($25.00). We never took possession of either item. Additionally, the [redacted] manager confirmed a gate opener was never activated under our names. Neither [redacted] nor SM has signed receipts that we ever took possession of these items, yet, will cite, "But your paperwork says [differently]."
We have tried to tell SM that the "paperwork" does not reflect what happened, but instead, we are interrupted and talked over. When we moved in, SM directed us to the [redacted] mgr. for the gate opener. She told us we would have to pay for a gate opener, we opted not to because there was no indication we would be reimbursed; so, instead we used the key pad to gain access to the subdivision for the entire two years.
There are two other charges we are also disputing ($50.00 to clean under washer & dryer (unfounded) and for a "missed" inspection appt. (I was there, furniture was either away from walls or in the garage and SM refused to inspect). In summary, I would not recommend this property management organization to either a client or a tenant.
Communicating with SM representatives is difficult and I found the style from the SM principals to us to be condescending. I remember an SM lead manager stating, "We're the best." That concerned me then and now I know why.
We realize the [redacted] community offers just a few residential property management organizations but until SM decides to fully engage with its customers to solve seemingly straight-forward matters such as this one; however, we strongly recommend you suspend and avoid any business matters with SM.
Sincerely,
