I just received the bill for an express care visit on Sept5, I had injured my back Friday night and was in so much pain by Saturday that I had no choice but to go to the E.R(being the weekend I couldn't see my regular physician) I have had this injury a few times before and know that all it takes is time and relaxation to heal but I desperately needed muscle relaxers and some type of pain relievers just to lay on the couch I sat in the waiting room for over hours in order to see the nurse practitioner for no more than minutes He would only prescribe me enough medication to last me through the weekend so I could see my own doctor on Monday, which I could understand I speculated that the bill would probably top $(which is ridiculous by the way) and was shocked to see a total of over $2,000!!! All for sitting in a waiting room for 2+ hours (in extreme pain by the way) and seeing a doctor in training for less than minutes in order to get a few pills to last through the weekend In fairness Pac Bay's bill was only $1,(only???) and the rest was from the hospital (also ridiculous) I understand it was my injury and a doctor definitely deserves to be paid for his dedication and education, as well as the hospital that provides the staff and facilities, but $2,plus dollars for minutes of a doctor's time and prescription is completely un-ethical (and I do have insurance from *** because my other insurance that cost less and was better was cancelled)) which is completely a joke and not covering any of this)
