SF Bay Motors

In November of 2019, my son purchased a 2003 Mitsubishi Outlander from this dealership. At the time of purchase, I brought to the salesperson's attention the fact that the tags reflected December 2019 and asked them if new tags were going to be placed on the vehicle before we left the lot. My son and I was informed that we would receive the tags, along with the title and the registration in the mail.

In January 2020, my son received the title from DMV and the registration from the SF Bay Motors. However, he never received the 2020 tags. I called SF Bay Motors and they informed me that the individual that they had working for them as it related to DMV matters, they fired and was working with the new individual that they hired in getting the tags. I gave them weeks to rectify the issue since my son paid for the registration which would have included the tags. I was first told that it would take about two weeks from my initial call. I allowed that two weeks and called again. I was then told that it would be another week. I allowed the additional week. It is now February and I still do not have those 2020 tags. My son is driving around with expired tags, although his registration is current. What appears to have happened according to the dealership is that prior to the owner selling the vehicle, he paid for the new registration but never put the tags on the vehicle. That is not my problem nor my son's problem.
