I am responding in regards to Mr***'s complaint made to your company
When I took over this file (approxmonths ago) I was the third Project Manager to have handled itI went to his home to view the
remaining work still to be done but the person who met me there was not sure of what we had done or was left to doMr*** did mention prior to my visit that there was some markings on his wall in the basement kitchen that were from us so I did look at that while I was thereThe rest was determined through the scope I had with me, which was painting some ceiling tiles in the basement kitchenAll other work had already been completed
As is standard for us in any insurance loss we require the deductible to be paid before starting any rebuild work and I had determined that his deductible was still outstanding in the amount of $This was requested from Mr*** at the timeThere was some back and forth between our accounting department and him for awhile until Mr*** stated that he would not pay his deductible due to the length of time that had gone by from the start of his claimHe then stated that he wished only to communicate with myself on anything to do with his claim
I contacted Mr*** shortly after to try and resolve the matter with him but he quickly stated that I had two choices:
We walk away from the job, do not complete the work and forget the deductible
We continue to try to collect the deductible and he sues us
The value of work remaining is actually less than the $deductible but we're willing to write it off to satisfy Mr*** as it is regrettable that his job had dragged on so long and he did not have the experience that we work very hard to achieve for our customers
