We went to Mr [redacted] home on Sunday November 29, Mr [redacted] called in his house fire to his insurance company and ServiceMaster corporate is under contract with this insurance company to be the first responder and that's why we were called to do the board up at his homeSunday is considered “after hours”, thus charges are applied accordinglyOur bill included the customary amounts approved by Mr [redacted] insurance carrier.Mr [redacted] received the first invoice in January and statements after that In the beginning we were both under the belief that the insurance company would pay us directly When the claim was turned to a total loss, that changed Because his claim was considered a total loss, his insurance company paid out a final settlement to Mr [redacted] directly, and the cost of the board up is part of the total loss/settlement making payment his responsibility which was explained to him by his adjuster as well as in a letter from our officeI had no response from Mr [redacted] to the statements or any calls asking for consideration In one last attempt to collect I did what all business do with an account over days past due, ask for payment with a due date and if no response bill will go to collections. We have offered Mr [redacted] a settlement amount of 30% of his bill to cover most of our expenses This is what we do everyday And we understand how stressful and difficult it is to have a catastrophic loss and we are there to help
