Seredni Tire & Auto Center Reviews (4)

Review: I purchased 4 tires from Seredni. Upon installation, they damaged all 4 of my factory, OEM rims. The damages were pointed out to the manager who admitted they did damage my rims but refused to fix them or remedy the situation. They do have a sign up stating they are not responsible for damage to custom wheels. However, my wheels are FACTORY OEM. This was pointed out to the manager, he said it didn't matter. These damages have cost me over $2000.00 as these are Lexus rims.Desired Settlement: 4 new rims from the factory. As touch ups are not acceptable to me. They damaged and destroyed my rims. They need to be replaced.

Response:

On 9.17.14 Seredni Tire install 4 new [redacted] tires

on a [redacted] (almost 8 years old) [redacted]. The SUV has 97613

miles on it. This vehicle is rugged and capable of off-road conditions.

We notice that when we saw the way his tires were wearing,

we recommended alignment ([redacted]). Not sure if he had been

hitting potholes or curves. He did not want to align it.

The customer came back the next day and talk to the [redacted].

[redacted] could not see any ‘new’ damage and told him to come back and see [redacted]. The

[redacted]) did see crub scruffs, scratches, nicks, chrome loss and

pitted wheels. The customer did point out pervious damage done to his wheels

from curbs and ‘other shops’. [redacted] could not see or distinguish

any new damages to the wheels. So out of good will/customer satisfaction, [redacted]

told the customer we would pay ½ of the cost to repair the wheel.

On Weds. 9/24/14, we received a letter from the [redacted] with the

customer’s complaint about wanting new wheels from the factory. We offered him

out best solution and he refused. The wheels are NOT damaged and NOT destroyed.

They DO NOT need replacing.

Response:

I have reviewed the offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

I do not agree with [redacted]' story, as it contains many fabrications. An alignment was never verbally recommended or communicated to me. It was simply printed on a receipt after I had paid. I certainly did not refuse it and there is no documentation to support that I refused it. We did speak to [redacted] who acknowledged the damage and even stated that Seredni works with Wheel Wizard who can fix the damage they caused. [redacted] acknowledged the damage and stated that it is hard to mount tires without damaging the rims but refused to help us. I want to make it clear that [redacted] demonstrated the worst customer service I have ever seen. He was absolutely no help and offered nothing. We had to go over his head to the owner [redacted] to receive any type of restitution. [redacted] never said he would pay half, [redacted] offered that. [redacted] also states my wheels suffer from chrome loss which would be difficult considering my wheels do not have one single piece of chrome on them. Again, another fabrication that proves his unethical business practices. My wheels are painted aluminum alloy. It is blatantly obvious Seredni caused the damage, as there are large chunks of wheel missing right under the clip on wheel weights that Seredni placed on my wheels. I have included a wheel repair cost with a company I trust, quoted at $300. I will accept a check from Seredni that totals $150 which is half the cost of wheel repair. Since this is the BEST solution.

Review: On 8-18-13 I purchased 2 new 50,000 mile [redacted] under warranty. I had the front end of my Oldsmobile aligned, the shop said I needed a new right steering arm, I let them install one so that they could complete the alignment. I had purchased the car as a 2000 Oldsmobile 8 months prior. The inexpensive new right front tire the dealership installed was shot. The 2 new [redacted] purchased from Serendini, were put in the front. The left front tire had normal wear. Last month I went back to Serendini as the left front was very out of alignment and was worn bald on the outside. This wheel was fine before their alignment. They also informed me that the inside of the right front was worn bald too, that both tires needed replacement again at 20,000 miles, that their alignments were only guaranteed for 3 months, that since I did not rotate the tires, they would only sell me two more new tires for the same price (as a favor), that I paid for the last two.I have been driving for 30 years. I have always received 50,000 miles on a 50,000 mile tire. My car is in the worst alignment I have ever had. I have never barreled over any "bumps". Serendini said just driving on the interstate could cause this alignment. I think that is baloney. I spoke with[redacted]. I currently have a limited income and must watch every penny. I cannot afford to replace "good 50,000 mile tires every 20,000 miles". I paid Serendini $410.31 on invoice 204470, 8/8/12. I have been very busy moving from Mechanicsville, VA to Midlothian, VA and just finished unpacking, or I would have written you earlier. My car will not pass 12/2013 inspection with the condition these two new tires are in. I would appreciate some assistance with this matter. This has been a particularly rough year, since 10,000 miles of the 20,000 miles was used to go to my Breast Cancer Treatments. Thank you.Desired Settlement: My car properly aligned (preferably at a different shop) and the [redacted] replaced with like quality (new 50,000 tires), so that my car will be safe to drive and pass December 2013 inspection. I expect the steel to start showing any day on the left front tire.Note the 2 back tires the car came with (which were not new, are still good).

Response:

[redacted] bought 2 tires on Aug 8, 2012.

She did buy [redacted] 50k mile warranty tires, Alignment and tie rod.

We recommended other work (front HUb Bearing) that would affect the alignment at a later time of not repaired. she refused!

She did not rotated her tires, they are recommended every 6k miles, free of charge.

You are not going to get 50k miles on any type of tire unless you take care of them.

[redacted], told her that some roads are bad and they CAN knock alignment out.

NOt sure what roads she drives on to not never hit a "bump in the road"

[redacted] will not warranty these tires if not taken care of. She has voided the warranty.

sincerely,

Review: On 1/11/2014 I dropped my car off at Seredni Tire & Auto to have my front driver wheel bearing replaced because I thought it was bad due to the whoooing sound it was making. The car was dropped off and repaired, so I thought. I had to work that Sat so my 17 year old daughter pick up the car for me. When I went to drive it my dash board had warnings for the ABS and the traction system which I think is all connected to my tires. So I take it back on Monday 1/13/2014. A[redacted] from the Shop asked who I had taken the car to, to think there was something wrong with the wheel bearing. I told him I thought it was sound I recongized, I had heard it in my [redacted] then stated the mechanic that worked on my car said he didn't feel the wheel bearing needed to be replaced but since that was what I requested they replaced it total price was 485.00. On 1/14/2014 the wheel bearing was replaced again and the sensor lights were still on and I was told there was nothing they could do about that even though she admitted they were not on when the car was dropped off. She told me I needed to take the car the dealer to find out what the problem was. I explained the car was still making a noise and asked if she could at least have the mechanic take the care out. She said NO it's raining out and he won't be able to hear anything. Now I have have to take my car someplace else that will charge me to repair what the damaged and I'm stuck paying a 485.00 and the car is till making noise. This is so unfair if the mechanic had just taken 2 min to call me and say "I don't think it's your bearings there is no way I would have had him replace them!!!!!!!Desired Settlement: Refund the 485.00 I paid them and a refund for whatever it will cost me to repair whatever it is they damaged.

Revdex.com [redacted]

Dear [redacted]:

[redacted] called previously and requested an estimate on replacing a wheel bearing on her [redacted]. We quoted the job.

She brought the car in on Saturday, 1-11-14, to have the bearing installed per her request. She diagnosed the problem because it had happened previously on another car she owned. We did not diagnose the problem---no diagnostic fee was charged. We only did the work requested and only charged parts and labor. Unfortunately, we assumed she had had the car diagnosed by a professional and this was not the case.

She paid and picked the car up after hours. She called us on the following Monday to inform us the ABS light and traction lights on the dash were on. We told her to bring it back and we would make sure every thing was ok with the car. We replaced the same part again to make sure that the sensor was not defective. Had the sensor been bad, it could have caused the light to come on. There was no change after the second part was installed. Our computer would not communicate with her car. We recommended she take it to the dealership to diagnose. Our diagnostic fee is $85.00. We only told her it would do no good to drive it on a rainy day because you cannot

hear the noise. We did what the customer requested and regret that the outcome was not positive.

Sincerely

There was no offer made. I took my car to the professionals. Allen told me the mechanic said "the wheel bearing seemed to be fine: yet they charged me $485.00 anyway. I feel this business is just greedy and a rip off. Since my car is still making the noise I took it to another shop and come to find out it wasn't the driver side but the passenger side wheel bearing. If the mechanic would have only test drove the car once he stated the bearing was fine he would have found out it was the other side and would still gotten paid. So now I'm out of $485.00 for a part that didn't need to be replaced, still have to have the passenger side replaced and have the sensor fixed that were not broken when I dropped my car off. And I told this to the woman I spoke with so there is no way she thought I was a SATISFIED CUSTOMER!!! And once again repairing things that you know doesn't need repairing regardless off what was asked by the customer is considered to be a RIP OFF. All of this could have been avoided if he had only picked up the phone and told me he didn't feel the part needed to be replaced!

Review: I went to get my oil changed on 5/12/15 at [redacted]. They said the drain plug was overtightened and told me to take it back to the place where the oil was last changed. The mentioned that it appeared that I was last at [redacted]. I was surprised they said [redacted], because I hadn't been there since 11/25/14 and had my oil changed most recently by Seredni Tire when they replaced the oil filter adapter on 1/28/15. I took my car on the other side of the plaza to Seredni and told them why as was there. They brought it in and showed me that the filter was painted yellow and that yellow paint was also painted on the drain plug. They said that using yellow paint is not their practice and that the last business that changed my oil had to be a different location, though 1/28/15 was the last recorded oil change. I called [redacted] while I was at Seredni and they stated that using yellow paint is their practice. I plan to take my car back to [redacted] since they appear to be the last business to change my oil, but Seredni still states that they did indeed change my oil on 1/28/15. They allege that I must have gone to another place to have my oil changed after 1/28/15 when I stated that I did not. I originally brought my car to Seredni in January to look into transmission problems, which they did not address and my transmission died 7 days later on 2/4/15. [redacted] replaced my transmission. I called them and they did not give my a complimentary unsolicited oil change and they do not use yellow paint. I brought my car to Seredni for inspection on 4/23/15. My car failed inspection and I took it to Pep Boys for repairs and brought it back to Seredni on 4/24/15 for re-inspection. Pep Boys also did not perform an unsolicited oil change and they also do not use yellow paint. Therefore, the only conclusion is that my oil and oil filter adapter were not changed on 1/28/15, but Seredni still contends that they did the work.Desired Settlement: Seredni should refund the 219.38 spent on 1/28/15 and provide documentation stating that all evidence supports that an oil filter adapter repair and oil change probably did not take place. I came looking for transmission repair, so they should have declined service to me on 1/28/15 in the first place (the tech informed me at days end that he was unaware of my primary reason for my visit and that they don't do transmission repair). Instead, I ended up with a check engine light diagnostic and an oil leak repair. To add insult to injury, there is no evidence that they even changed my oil and no explanation as to how the last documented place to change my oil did so without replacing the oil filter or the drain plug covered in yellow paint from [redacted] on 11/25/14. Seredni is a convenient location to bring my business and I'd like to resolve the matter to restore the cordial relationship.

Response:

This is in reference to the dispute about the oil change issue. We DID change the oil filteradapter gasket. In order to change the oil filter adapter gasket you have to remove the oil filter. There was a major oil leak at the filter adapter. Had we left the original oil filter on it, it wouldhave been dirty with oil build up, but the filter appeared to be new. We do not spray any colorpaint on our filter or drain plugs. We also would not have put bis old oil filter back on the car. Icannot answel' for the yellow paint nor the brand name filter on his car; since it was not a brandname that we use. Our mechanics offered to bring the car in and try to change the oil but, herefused. In January, when we changed the oil filter adapter, we did address the transmission issue. On the invoice we noted that the trans fluid was topped off and seemed to be slipping andadvised him to go to the dealer or trans shop. We do not repair transmissions; therefore weadvised taking it to someone who does. There was no charge to him for this service. If we can provide more information to reconcile this, please contact us.[redacted]Sincerely,

Response:

I have reviewed the offer and/or response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Seredni did

not make an offer or acknowledge any error.

The response also contained an inaccurate description of my visit and

the conversation. The response does not address the reasons for my complaint.

I am complaining because of two reasons:

1) Seredni

should have informed me that they do not do transmission work and referred me to

a transmission shop when I described the reason for my visit in January 2015 before

Seredni attempted any work.

2) Seredni

showed me evidence on May 12, 2015 that they did not do the work that they said

they did in January 2015 and they did not provide any evidence or explanation

to the contrary, given the facts of the work performed on my car after my

January 2015 visit.

My last 2

oil changes were at [redacted] on November 25, 2014 (where they mark their work

with yellow paint) and Seredni on January 28, 2015. [redacted] clearly provided my last oil

change.

I have been

driving around for 3.5 months believing that Seredni replaced my oil filter

adapter and performed an oil change in January 2015 until [redacted] showed me

the evidence on May 12, 2015 that they did not.

The evidence was the yellow painted oil filter and drain plug that she

said was not their work and that her technician states could not possibly have

remained intact if they had done their work.

still argues a fact that I am not disputing: Seredni did not put the yellow

spray painted oil filter or spray paint the drain plug yellow. It was proven to

be the work of [redacted]. The fact that she ignores is that the last time that

my car was taken to a [redacted] was November 25, 2014. The other two places

that I took my car did not perform an oil change and do not use yellow paint to

mark their work. I have done my

investigation into that possibility and then returned to Seredni on May 26,

2015 to share the results and ask them to admit the error. She stated that she

didn’t know where I took my car since January, but I told her I could show her.

She appeared to be uninterested in knowing that additional information so it

could remain an unanswered question in her mind.

The fact

that Seredni does not fix transmissions was not told to me until after their

supposed repair in January 2015. I was upset when the technician made note that

it was “slipping” as an afterthought because that was my primary reason for the

visit. I knew I had an oil leak and I

asked them to ignore it for the moment to address my primary concern. The technician called back to explain the

diagnostic code and his recommendation to fix the oil leak and see what

happens. I followed his recommendation. He did not realize that the

transmission was the reason for my visit because of how the front desk worker

recorded the problem on the invoice. My transmission was unrepairable 7 days

later.

I have [redacted] a detailed description of the January

visit and additional facts for your review.
